How does your store handle TL coverage re: payroll plan?

Haha same, never been trained and I don't backup the front end either. I've always been a pretty fast mover and I'm good at finding things - back in my younger days I probably would've scorched FF. But now I'm older, a bit slower, and have a heart condition - not sure how good I'd be and...

    Can I Stretch My Thirty?

Absolutely DO NOT do that! Time theft is a fireable offense. Better to be late and record your time accurately.

    The Breakroom Memes

I get very eye-rolly when I hear regular TMs barking on the radio like they are top dog, lol.

Service & Engagement Denim trade in, yikes!

I agree with this, it should be minimum 30% off.

How does your store handle TL coverage re: payroll plan?

This is true lol. What bugs me the most is how often they pull people from the floor to cover FF and front end. Honestly I don't understand why the leaders for Style and GM don't kick up a big fuss. They are essentially stealing hours from other departments. We have one Style TM who is pulled...

    Can I Stretch My Thirty?

Lol why is clocking out for meals "insanity"? Tons of jobs do it, it's extremely common.

Service & Engagement Denim trade in, yikes!

Yes it does happen frequently with you because you don't quote anyone. Anything that reduces waste is a good thing and not at all nonsense. Why throw away a perfectly good pair of jeans? Much better to donate. $2500 is indeed an insane price though, lol.

Service & Engagement Denim trade in, yikes!

Why? They do it with car seats too. It's a way to recycle old denim. I often buy used clothing, shoes, and purses, it's better for the planet and lots of old stuff is better made and just cooler than new stuff. I'm a germaphobe and even I'm not worried about handling old clothes.

How does your store handle TL coverage re: payroll plan?

Not unusual to see ETLs and the SD picking in my store.

    Change in store hours

We unfortunately get a decent amount of people after 9 and it didn't take them long to realize we are open until 11. We always have people up until closing.

Welcome to retail. This is a tale as old as time.

    Change in store hours

We starting staying open until 11:00 pm for the first time last week. Looks like it's permanent.

    WTF

Loathe adset! Used to do it at Sears and it was awful. Thankfully at Target they only scheduled me a few times. Since going strictly nights I don't have to worry about it anymore.

    WTF

Oh I definitely walk in to a mess more often than not. Doesn't help that my area is left without coverage for hours every day. I come in and do my best to whip it into shape. If I can't get to something, oh well, tomorrow's another day.

    Breakroom Calendar

Seems many people have too much time on their hands and are concerning themselves with things they shouldn't. I have no idea who's Employee of the Month or if we even still do it because I'm not hanging around the office area long enough to notice. I go in, hit the time clock, grab my equipment...

    WTF

One of the benefits of being on the closing team is there seems to be less pressure. Only really have to deal with one or two leaders and they have their hands full. Seems day shift has a clock ticking and management breathing down their necks. No thank you.

    WTF

I honestly love my job. Target is no worse than any other retail company, and in fact is better in some ways. All of the issues that people complain about are issues I experienced at Sears as well: lack of communication, lack of floor coverage, constantly changing priorities, calling for...

    WTF

Used to be that way in our store too but a few months ago they started scheduling more TLs at night so the Closing Lead isn't alone.

    Shrinkflation

Think the first one a really remember is yogurt going from 8oz to 6oz. Now some of them are only 5oz. Some granola bars are only five to a package now. Klondike bars are like half the size they used to be.
