MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

I kept the plastic hangers because the metal ones barely fit in some things. Also, I needed to build up a bigger supply of the metal hangers. I ordered a bunch of sizes before I left and they were all backordered. As soon as you get rid of those plastic hangers there's going to be something dumb...

Archived Who is on the other end of MySupport? (Vent, cry, laugh, help, for everyone!)

I mysupported things constantly just so there was always an electronic paper trail of me actually doing my job. I'd say maybe 1/20 of my hundreds of mysupports were ever satisfactory. They'd never understand what I meant even if I was extremely detailed, they would misinterpret things that I...

    Archived Everything Target sucks.

My store wouldn't approve my school availability. I had an understanding with the HR tm to give me my days off. Seems real dumb. Get out of there op, if you can.

Archived I have been at Target for three years, between the Cafe & Electronics, and my pay is less than most.

I quit last month, but I was making $10.31 with a dollar more paygrade, so I was making 31 cents over my base pay. I had been there 6 years.

It doesn't break any rules to discuss your wages. Bring it up with your ETL-HR.

Archived Funny Things you hear on the walkie

I only ever called 911 on the red phones because they're awful. If you dial out on a cordless or a fancy operator phone then it's harder to do.

No, 911 dials out just fine. I know from experience.

MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

I have a bunch more overheads to do, both CSEs, all the tables, tree stuff, door clings, and general seasonal signing to do. That plane with the lights took up way more time than it should have.

    Archived GSA at 18

At my store they stick people they kind of like in the gsa position, and then forget about them. Whenever a gstl position opens, they either move other team leaders to that position or hire externally and the gsa who was hoping for promotion is always disappointed. Some people like the job...

    Archived Carry Out tips?

I also agree with whoever said to only take the tip if they won't take no for an answer. It's still forbidden. It's dumb, but it's still a rule and I'm sure someone somewhere cares about it.

    Archived Carry Out tips?

I agree with DoWork. I used to get carts semi-frequently and do carry outs semi-frequently and was offered many a tip. I never took any tips, but I don't see the harm in it at all. I don't see the leap in logic that accepting offered tips for carry outs is going to destroy the tipping economy...

Those back to college overheads suck. The big cube outlines with the stuff inside. The directional signs too. They all suck.

If they respond vaguely and blow you off, then put in a mysupport ticket for SAP access. That's what I did and it worked out just fine. I'm signing and not a brand team member though.

At my store PA is 50 cents higher than base pay and signing is a dollar more than base pay.

    Archived New Signing Specialist

What drives me crazy about my pog team is that if I'm not there, they'll never even set foot in the fixture room to find their signing and stuff. I have everything color coded and labeled, and they still don't even take the time to look. Like you said, I'm not there to put up their backer...

    Archived New Signing Specialist

Signing is fun. My store treats the position like a Presentation team member who occasionally unloads signing pallets and puts stuff up. I've fought for the use of my own time for the past year. My advice is to not let leadership jerk you around. Signing is an easy job if you have cool bosses...
