    Archived Leaving Target

I gave notice to the Store Team Lead about a week ago. What should I expect during my last week of employment? While the STL is very professional, she is not always there. I do have some reservations about a few of her ETL's, and how they will treat an outgoing employee. Any comments would...

Archived There are weird things going on in the front of the store.

I had three people (Store Team Leader, ETL and my direct TL) come up to me within 15 minutes of each other about ending up on a report stating non-compliance when it come to taking a lunch. Each told me that I consistently end up on this report, and I need to make sure I take my lunch at the...

Archived There are weird things going on in the front of the store.

What about if you are the only one in the store in Electronics? I struggle every night either trying to find someone to cover my lunch/break or never get an answer from the LOD about who should cover. I had one LOD kept telling me that he would get back to me in 5 minutes. 2+ hours later he...

    Archived Denied!

The conclusion of my story in regards to requesting time off. Before creating the schedule, the ETL didn't check to see if anyone requested time off. In bringing it up with ETL-HR, she talked to the ETL and made everything right.

    Archived Denied!

I didn't mean to shame people. If I came across like this, then I apologize. I completely understand work ethic and working hard. I have a 40 hour a week job, and then I am working 30 hours per week at Target. I have never worked for a company that does this to their employees. I have...

    Archived Denied!

Do anyone of you ask for time off? Do you only take time off when it's a lifetime event (wedding, birth of child, death in family)? If that was the parameter, you guys need to really re-think what is important. Some of you assumed that my prior commitment was something small and...

    Archived Denied!

Why should it matter to them what type of commitment I have? I informed them well in advance of a day I will not be able to work. They had plenty of time before the schedule was due to figure out coverage. For the person who said that I should cancel my prior commitment and come into work...

    Archived Denied!

I am relatively new to Target. I was hired 4 months ago as a part timer. I work nights and on the weekend. I put in a request for a night off in plenty of time. I found out yesterday that my request was denied and I was put on the schedule. I would not have requested the time off if I...

Archived Christmas is coming...let's all be nice

I am not disagreeing with what you are saying. The first year this was done was an experiment. If no one showed up, then they wouldn't have done it the next year. A retailers livelihood rests on demand. If people create the demand, then the retail will act on it.

Agreed, but at some point don't be surprised if things change.

Archived Christmas is coming...let's all be nice

I have a 40 hour a week job and do to some financial issues, I took a part time job This has nothing to do with "dick measuring". This solely has to do with demand. The retailers will make decisions based on the buying public.

Archived Christmas is coming...let's all be nice

I am new to Target and I guess I haven't experienced enough. After reading everyone's post, I think we are missing something. It seems like we are blaming Target and the other retailers for making their employees work the night of Thanksgiving. It is not Target's or the other retailers fault...

    Archived Black Friday and availability

I have heard from different people that Target will pay time and a half for Thanksgiving day and Black Friday and others say they will give an extra one dollar an hour. Which is it? Anyone know?

    Archived Black Friday and availability

With my availability from 5pm to close Monday thru Friday, and the store rumored to stay open from 8pm to Saturday midnight, should I expect a shift going to 2 to 3 am in the morning, and then come back on Friday for another A.M. shift into Saturday?
