    Archived Another new remodel?

Well, you're a test store so there's at best a handful of other stores that will be getting that remodel too

    Archived Internal Investigations (Terms)

Yes but that's the key. If they're doing it, you go to the salesfloor and they aren't anymore, you can't do anything

Archived Target rolling out Caroline's Cart to its stores

My store has had this for as long as I've been there (only 6 months, no idea how long before that) I've yet to see it used by somebody who doesn't need it. The motorized carts are used by everybody from the overweight to the lazy to the crappy teenagers, but this is completely different. That...

No, that's clear as day. The only thing you can coach off cameras is safety concerns

    Archived Internal Investigations (Terms)

The only way that would fly here is if someone took a 45 minute lunch but put a punch correction claiming it was only 30 Taking an extra long 15? That's not stealing time, that's loafing

    Archived Internal Investigations (Terms)

Opening an internal because someone takes an extra long break? That comes off as petty even for Spot

Archived TMs evaluations and compensation changing in 2016?

I'm in a state where minimum wage raised, and Target raised base pay with it I didn't see a nickel of that, and don't expect to at any point with minimum wage raises

    Archived Internal Investigations (Terms)

I've been in my store for 6 months, I've gotten 1 merch case, 3 POS cases, and I dunno how many HR policies because nobody cares about those ASANTS but more than that all districts are not the same. In my district you are required to have at least one internal open at all times. Even if you got...

Archived How much of your perspective changed when you got promoted?

This question is specifically for Team Leaders and up who originally started at Target as base level team members. When I was hardlines I would question and argue with almost everything TL's and ETL's did. "We aren't appreciated enough" "We don't get paid enough." "They're just dumping their...

Archived In side 90 days and I boned up....help!

I honestly don't even remember if I had a 90 day review. I just...kept showing up to work

On one hand he of course came here for support and help, on the other hand we're not about to lie to him and tell him it's all okay.

So is it today or tomorrow we're supposed to find out if he got fired?

    Archived TL SELF REVIEWS

I'm almost glad I don't actually have a team, and the only one I have to review is myself.

Archived How go about talking to ETL about becoming a TL

ASANTS of course, but that's something that's in best practice. Stores should be talking about it at the very least in TL meetings

Archived TMs evaluations and compensation changing in 2016?

I'm not at work right now, I took a vacation, but I have a TL meeting my first day back on Monday and I'm pretty sure reviews will be the topic

Archived How go about talking to ETL about becoming a TL

Keep in mind that stores are required to have Team Members "on the TL bench" so it's a win-win

    Archived Closed

There's a small story with mine So, about a year ago my store was terrible. Terrible. Nothing got done, team didn't care, sales were never met, and BTS came and went and we became a focus store (I wasn't part of the store yet). Then leadership changed. All of it, or at least most of it. Of the...

Archived How go about talking to ETL about becoming a TL

That's really the long and short of it. Obviously you need to be stellar in what you do now, but the long and short of it is "I'm interested." Also if travel isn't an issue say you're willing to interview for TL positions in other stores.

Archived Certain Job based on test scores

All store level positions SHOULD be listed as an opening. Even if a position opens up and the store knows who they'd like to take over, they're still obligated to post the opening. As most positions, you interview, though I don't know of any position you take a test for.
