Archived What do store side TMs think about AP?

My views of AP and cops really don't match at all. I keep cops at arms length, while I would touch base with AP at least once a shift. I used to work in a liquor store in a high crime area that skimped on security. When I have security, I value it, and I was an Electronics TM at both my stores...

Who recently quit at your store?

What the fuck. Last time I worked in Market, it took me about 25 minutes to do a fully loaded three tier, and I was an Electronics/Plano TM, not Market.

Service & Engagement Can I speak to a manager?: A front end thread

This makes me thankful that California allows 18 year olds to ring up alcohol and forbids the purchase of alcohol at self checkout.

I'm travelling to Japan in January, so ditto.

    Archived Black pants?

I don't know what to tell you. Somebody pointed out that section of the handbook in my last orientation and asked about wearing black pants, and HR said no, that's not acceptable, and you must wear khaki. That may be illegal, but so is half the shit my store pulls.

    Archived Black pants?

My store goes with "If Target gave you the shirt, you can wear it on shift any day, regardless of color". I have that shirt, and wear it all the time. Nobody cares.

Ever wear khaki pants during a heavy period?

    Archived Black pants?

Yea, well, California also says we can't drop pallets of merchandise in front of fire exits or stand on flat carts, but guess what we do on a daily basis? HR flat out says in orientation that no, you can't wear black pants, and unless you think the state DoL is going to waste time on this...

    Archived Black pants?

I've worked in multiple California stores. It's been made very clear that the handbook is irrelevant and you will wear khaki in all of them.

    Target Memes

You know I'm a nerd, because I immediately recognized who that character is and what game series he's from.

    MEGATHREAD Flexible Fulfillment

...Aren't we supposed to print out an Online Item sticker and shove the item on a clearance endcap? Because that's what I do, and that's what everybody else I know does.

Sales Floor Let's meet in the Middle; an Electronics/Tech thread

My STL outright said Electronics is to stop zoning Sporting Goods, and that while E&E needs to be zoned, it is not to be our priority, and we can focus on push and guests and backstock and let the zone slip if we have to. Every close he does, ETL GE tells Electronics to zone Sporting Goods and...

Sales Floor Let's meet in the Middle; an Electronics/Tech thread

Yea, and even if they aren't doing anything, their district manager still insists they never, ever help Electronics guests, only Mobile. I'd really rather just replace them with a second redshirt who can do Mobile and everything else Electronics, but no. Instead we've gotta have one TM, even...

The Things Guests Do/Pet Peeves Thread

Is that really so weird? I do it all the time. I have a backpack with all the stuff I'm carrying, and everything I buy just goes in the backpack. I bag meat, clothes, books, and electronics together without a second thought.

He was smart enough to have someone from Market ring him up instead of doing it himself, so the leaders don't really care.

Archived "Additional cashier to the front lane..."

We use that all the time in my store. Marketsource DM tells the Mobile people to never help Electronics guests every time she's in, so they just hit that button because we don't have any electronics call buttons left.

We had the electronics opener buy one as soon as the GSA put a cash drawer in the registers

I'm Lost! The Call In/Sick/Late/NCNS/Attendance Thread

I was rehire. Complicating matters, I live in California, which has a mandatory sick pay law. This might overrule Target's rule on the matter, but I don't know. I'm also not clear if I'm even probationary or not. I've been with Target a total of 5 months, but there's a gap in there.

I'm Lost! The Call In/Sick/Late/NCNS/Attendance Thread

Here's one. I average about 38 hours a week over 7 weeks, and I called out for the first time Friday. I've been at this store 2 months, but I was a rehire from another Target. I have 16 hours sick pay and want to use some to get paid for Friday, rules say you have to be over 90 days to use it. I...

Service & Engagement Can I speak to a manager?: A front end thread

Here in California, there's also the fact that it's illegal to buy alcohol at SCO, and alcohol is big business for us. It's a college area, and we have a full liquor license (meaning we sell spirits, not just beer and wine). If there's only SCO and IGS, anyone buying alcohol has to wait for that...
