    Archived Team Leader Business Walks

Our previous ETL-GE was not a great manager (though she was always nice to me). She was notorious for not getting things done that were required. Once, one of the other GSAs went to her and said he'd like to complete GSTL business walks too, just as personal development. She said that was...

    Archived Cash Office

To all you people listening to music: so jelly! We're not allowed to have any electronic devices such as cell phones or Ipods b/c AP has designated them to be a security threat. How I don't really know; I've still not mastered stuffing any money into my cell phone. Drinks are not allowed...

Archived Final Warning for "Working Off The Clock"

Eh, my only real interest in the punch correction was if the point about the keys would make them reconsider the FW. I don't think they're going to do that, so won't filling out a punch correction just piss them off? I also assume there is no process for appealing an FW other than talking to...

Archived How do you keep see spot save from looking like a flea market?

I prefer trying to stick closer to the planogram, but our DTL said he doesn't care about that; he just wants it full. We're trying a new strategy where the opening and closing GSTL both have small batches pulled to push at open and close. Unfortunately, that doesn't really help with the zone...

    Archived ETL's favorite department?

Agreed. My fave ETL-GE was one I had several years ago who could always be found on the floor helping us out with myriad tasks. We all loved her for it. She also routinely got in trouble from our STL for working too much and not showing enough leadership and delegation.

Archived Forced AE reductions for anual reviews

Yeah, why do you never hear of living wage campaigns for retail workers? It's always like college campuses. Seeing so many people at Spot work hard year after year and never get a raise is disgusting.

Sadly, that information could have helped me.

Archived The Fine Line Between GSA and GSTL

Oh, I do the same daily statuses during shift changes. I meant more substantial statuses along the lines of how TLs will sit down weekly (in theory) with their ETLs.

    Archived ETL's favorite department?

My ETL-AP argues that ETL-GE is the easiest position because you always have one of your supervisors in the store. He wishes he always had some of his AP team members in the store.

Archived Final Warning for "Working Off The Clock"

notsureifserious.jpg Even though it's been a couple of days, I still get really angry about all of this. Could I legitimately argue that a punch correction is warranted since I was given keys? Again, I don't really know how to protest a situation when HR is involved in the situation you'd...

Archived The Fine Line Between GSA and GSTL

I find that as a GSA my tips, advice, admonitions, etc. can basically be blown off because TMs know that I don't have any real authority over them. Sure, if something happens, I can pass it along to my GSTLs, but we're all so overwhelmed with the workload, I'll be lucky if it ever gets...

Archived Final Warning for "Working Off The Clock"

Thank you for everyone's responses; very interesting points of view. If I'm feeling cynical, part of me thinks it could have been a set up as well, but I really have no way of knowing. I know that she was under no obligation to tell me that "unauthorized work" was an automatic FW, but that...

Archived Final Warning for "Working Off The Clock"

Today I was issued a final warning for "working off the clock." I'm a GSA, and I arrived at the store about 20 minutes early just to get a head start on things. Well, my ETL-HR (while giving me my GSTL keys) says, "You better not do any work before you clock in. You're not going to are you?"...
