    MEGATHREAD myDay app

You're welcome. :) We actually figured this one out today and it'll get reviewed and merged and likely (thought I'm not promising, because reasons) go out in our next build, which would ship Monday. I don't know. This is a moment where Target is a big org, and some business decision was made...

    MEGATHREAD myDay app

We've made a bug for the keypad thing and will figure out why it's happening and sort it out. It's repeatable so we'll find it.

How to submit Change Requests for ePick

The investment in adding feedback to the other apps that aren't myDay will be hard to justify with things moving towards myDay, so I say go ahead and use the feedback that's there and just let us have it. I can promise you they're read and considered.

How to submit Change Requests for ePick

There are emails for them, but they only work from Target.com emails, and I don't know that I should be sharing them out. I don't know the best way to get epick feedback, but I'm glad to point this thread in their direction.

Service & Engagement Question about "Loading" Screen glitch at Self-Checkout

So the gist of what I heard about that is the spinner is spinning while the GPD resets between transactions. It shouldn’t happen often, but that doesn’t seem to be the experience you’re all having. But being able to dismiss it was added intentionally so you can get back to using it. Call it in...

Ahh that last bit makes sense - if it’s trying to focus on selected. Thanks for replying. I’ll look in to that.

Like the whole screen scrolls down? I will have to see if I can replicate that - to my knowledge, we're not doing anything like autoscrolling stuff (intentionally), but I'll have to confirm.

Service & Engagement Question about "Loading" Screen glitch at Self-Checkout

Will do. My baseless, unqualified assumption is it’s loading in data or initializing peripherals, but I’ll find out.

    MEGATHREAD myDay app

That's a great idea, and one I'll take back for sure. It's a pattern that I think would make sense in any of the workflows. Bingo! Restarting the app (and the device) are far less effective than it used to be given how much of the app is centralized on a server. Restarting things primarily...

    Question about street dated items

“It’s complicate” :-\ Street date is a single attribute on Item that has a zillion attributes, and every system needs to be aware of it, which they’re just not. I agree it’s a bad guest experience, but the POS block is catch-all for other processes that aren’t aware or up to snuff with...

    MEGATHREAD myDay app

We know who's logged in to the myDevices, you know. But we also can tie functions to roles, which I'll mention to the group working on it today just in case it slipped minds. Please, please, please don't. Please. You may know how to turn it off, but the CSC doesn't, and it's hard to explain...

    MEGATHREAD myDay app

This guess is not entirely accurate. You are right about the barcode having the printer name, but the printer doesn't poll for print jobs, a central server sends it down to the printer. And "over-complicated" is relative. :-) The complicated task is printing the same way to 3000+ printers in...

    MEGATHREAD myDay app

The device doesn't have the data it needs to print, and changing that would be a big change that takes responsibility for completion away from the places it belongs. One of the things we try to do with the services that provide data to myDay is keep control with the services, so the system that...

    MEGATHREAD myDay app

Let me ask. Last time it was explained to me, printing confirmation and status uses a protocol called SNMP to query the device for print completion, and that is only so fast. There’s also just print render time, but I don’t believe that’s slow.

    MEGATHREAD myDay app

Drive Up alerts currently go to the Drive Up app, not myDay. We rested this late last year but backed it out because there was an issue with launching Pickup from myDay. As such, work areas have nothing to do with whether or not you receive pickup alerts. It is an intentional decision that every...

    MEGATHREAD myDay app

It may help to know that the myDevice and printer don't directly communicate at all, but instead prints are facilitated through a service at HQ. A print job is created, then sent to the device, and the API will check back on the print periodically to make sure it finished, or errored, etc. I'm...

    MEGATHREAD myDay app

What can be printed is determined by a specific service that matches items to sign types. Have you got details (like DPCI or TCIN) that I can check? This won't help :-\. Pickup alerts go to Pickup, not myDay, and we can't target them by workcenter ... yet. That is going to be a hard one to...

I can post that to epick, but that's not an app I work on regularly and can't speak for it.

    Question about street dated items

Got some sample DPCI? Design is looking at the fonts already. Chic is cool but it needs to be readable.

    MEGATHREAD myDay app

I appreciate the picture. My morning tomorrow will start by trying to replicate that. It is not a scenario we plan for, but I’m sure we can handle it better. All of the data on the screens comes from different places, and sometimes those places fail. We’ve got some cool code (I’m biased, I...
