    Corporate Shoplifting

The town that one of my old stores was in had a local law that stated that shopkeepers are immune from any legal action that stems from legitimate attempts to prevent or resolve shoplifting.

    Corporate Shoplifting

It was basically sit down, recover merchandise, write case, repeat for my entire Saturday...7 times. Someone got me on a vacuum though :(

    Other closing leads struggling?

Right. I think we're on the same side here, I'm just speaking from a higher scope. Cutting out your bias against ETLs, I am saying that the morning leadership team is responsible for handing off a somewhat manageable workload to the closing lead, leading through their own TMs of course. TMs...

    Other closing leads struggling?

The success of a closing lead is highly dependent on the morning ETLs and TLs performance during the day. My store had a closing lead and she was overwhelmed daily. ETLs were working 9-5s, handing off then leaving regardless of how the store looked. She got tired of it and quit, now all the...

    Service & Engagement Intercom

Couple things you can try. Depending on the type of phone you have, try unplugging everything from the bottom of the phone for a few seconds, plug back in, then try 52# again. We recently remodeled and got new phones, and now all it takes is dialing 52 and waiting a couple seconds.

    POS 2.0/New POS Shenanigans

We have it on half of our registers right now and it's sooooo sloooow. From an AP perspective, it sucks.

Can Target F-off with that "I Feel Love" song

    I hate it. It's so obviously auto-tuned.

    AP tl interview

Hello! Every area is different but in general you should expect two formal interviews and a possible phone interview. Usually the first interview is with the Store Director and HRBP, then second is with APBP and DSD, then third would be a phone conversation with the AP Director. However, that...

Guest today told me he was a "secret shopper". Is this legit?

I apprehended a guy who tried the "I'm just a secret shopper making sure security is doing their job!". He got a felony.

Archived How is this a thing?

I'm pretty sure that strategy is only for uboats that are sorted by 4 ft section in the aisle.

Archived What are you not understanding???

From an ETL perspective - sure there are a few really bad apple team members in every store, but the general failure of a store or department is totally dependent on their leader.

    Archived APL

APL and APS paygrades are the game. I would take APL just for longevity. APSs under a lot of pressure right now.

    Archived ETL-AP position gone?

5 ETL-APs in my district, nothing about us covering APL stores or anything of that nature. Definitely a market by market basis. I don't think AP has a company-wide standard in terms of structure.

Archived How to handle LISA at SCO

Another strategy my team teaches SCO attendants is to use the excuse that other people might discard things in there, so we don't want the guest to have a surprise when they get home. I've worked on SCO for two years and done AP for 4, never had an issue.

Everyone at my previous store is on the chopping block.

Maybe your leader is bad at leading, then. Remember every store is different. We have multiple team members at 15+ years who are SLOWWWW but do their best to change and follow new guidelines and guess what...they're not going anywhere, not being forced out, not being outed. I've worked...

Everyone at my previous store is on the chopping block.

Not seeing age discrimination where I'm at. We have the same thing going on where it's either get on board or get out, but it's mostly the younger TMs who don't want to do...anything really. The older, tenured TMs are the happiest and more highly regarded in my store. Most of the stores I've...

Archived I need help! too late??

Just FYI, you can get your smoker status changed, but you have to go in and take a test that shows that you don't have nicotine in your body. Or, as others have said, wait until next enrollment.

    Archived APS Schedule Questions

My whole team gets scheduled to theft trends first, then coverage after. They have to have open availability and can't expect to work the same days and shifts each week. Sometimes we're good with just a TPS here...sometimes we need all hands on deck.
