    Breaks

Also some DCs have upgraded their PIT with a telemetry system so the OMs can pull up a report on when your equipment stopped moving and for how long... Can also send messages and locate where the PIT is in the building.

    Breaks

We have a bell that alerts the TMs that their break will be up soon. Repercussions range from coaching to DA if behavior is not improved.

    is icqa a dying department?

Whenever the company underperforms expectations, the first positions to fall to the wayside are merit positions.. If we're not pushing as much freight as we did during the COVID years, I don't think there needs to be more than 3 or 4 ICQA TMs per key.

How often can you call off before OMs bring it up?

I think it's also dependent on shift and department. Inbound/Outbound at our DC is a bit more tolerant on CAs for attendance because of the personnel turnover. Warehouse is ruthless about coaching/CA for calling in.

    ICQA role

I believe they're suppose to send out rejection letter the same day the offer letter goes out. Not sure if that actually happens though.

    Job Posting

I believe there's a limit to how many backups you can have, HQs published a Network Organization Health that dictates how many % of the population must be in every job function about a year ago. Every backup positions are now suppose to be posted on Workday.

    Designated parking spaces

the personnel turnover is so high here that no one lasts long enough to stake a claim.

    Pay on different shifts

I worked A2 Inbound couple years back and I hated it with all my being. That extra two hours was nearly traumatic especially on Mondays when I would have to stay up after work so I could drop my kids off to school. Everyone comes in thinking, "Well, at least we get four days off." It's true, but...

    Interviews for Dedicated Team Trainer

talent placement/difference exists at every level of organization and at every position though so i never really thought too much about it once i saw the good and the bad.

    Interviews for Dedicated Team Trainer

as far as training specialist goes i would say it is heavily dependent on how self-motivated they are. i had transferred from one key to another when i was promoted and the difference in training specialist involvement was very surprising -- the new key training specialist knew everyone by...

    Sweep pet peeves?

I also heard the intent is eventually a privately contracted company will handle sweeps and RDC will be phasing them out.

Am I an idiot for applying for a warehouse worker position to partially get into shape and‘s for the really good pay?

From what I see, OB isn't what it used to be in terms of lanes at the shipping wing. Couple years back we'd have a single person running 6+ lanes, now days running 3, 4 lanes is par for the course. In terms of difficulty I would say the hardest in order is Inbound ART Unloader, Outbound Depal...

    Get Ready For Safety Vests

I am actually surprised not all DCs went safety vest, especially since the PIT Playbook we use specifically states all TMs trained on a new equipment must wear an orange vest for 90 days.

    Toxic masculinity at its best

Without context it's hard to say. I would recommend you not to address the problem yourself, but follow the chain of command and bring it to the attention of your OM in regards to harassment/toxic work environment (see Harassment-Free Workplace 2022 eLearning). If the problem persists and...

    OT Peak?

In 2020, we were doing two days of mandatory over time. In 2021, we were doing one day of mandatory over time. Looking at how we are currently being staffed in our DC in 2022, already it looks like they've overstaffed to ensure there won't be mandatory overtime, but opportunities for voluntary.

Am I an idiot for applying for a warehouse worker position to partially get into shape and‘s for the really good pay?

You will lose weight initially, but your body will adjust -- if you burn off a lot of calories, your body will eventually cause you to sleep or rest longer/eat more. Otherwise, everyone working in distribution center ought to be slim and in shape which is definitely not the case. At the end of...

    OM Training for Inbound

First and foremost, congrats on getting the OM position! Working in ART, I would recommend the looking out for the following to improve CPH: 1. If the container is pallet loaded, make sure Unloader A and Unloader B are effectively transitioning from pallet to pallet without any down time. Once...
