Archived What do your drive up people do between orders?

They work GS. If a drive up comes, the GSTL or lead watching the front will replace them in the transaction or go take it out themselves if they feel like it.

Archived Who's all staying or seeking new employment?

I have already decided to quit by August 1. Ill be finishing up two degrees by December and I don't plan to waste anymore time at Target than necessary.

ASANTS. At my store, we typically don't allow the sale most of the time. Particularly if it has a sticker on it or is a perishable item. This isn't always the case though. Upper Leadership are NEVER on the same page about anything, and some will allow whatever Karen wants to get her out of the...

    Archived Ethics Training .... Joke!

We don't tend to do any of the training on our store except the once-per-year food handling/safety training they make us do for the front end. So no. I'm sure it's pretty lulzy to read if the comments are any indication.

    Archived Why Do You Stay?

Because I'm in college. Target ain't bad for a college job.

I heard we're getting them, too. I certainly hope so. We get a lot of guest complaints about our current setup at my store, so getting new ones would be nice.

Archived Can an ETL force me to do cashier training?

They do in most stores. Furthermore, this dude is on inbound. He will most likely never have to actually cashier. However, everyone has to know the POS system. Cashiering is the easiest way to learn it quickly. 1-2 days of Cashier training is not going to kill him.

Archived Is There A Limit To Price Match?

100% for this except for Target.com. A few weeks ago, our local Walmart had some diapers they were trying to get rid of on clearance. We were nearly mobbed by those angry mothers upset they couldn't get their 50% off clearance out-of-stock diapers.

Our STL is pretty awesome. I think it also helps that our store is full of longtime non-seasonal TMs who are crosstrained for a ton of different areas. I'm not saying things are spectacular as there's some grumbling and a few people going out to look for other jobs. Overall though, I think he...

    Archived adhd and retail

I am an ADHD GSTM w/ mild autism. I was diagnosed at 6 after I got kicked out of like 13 elementary schools and on top of that I had terribly delayed motorskills. Thank god for the meds and occupational therapy. My GSTL is pretty tolerant of this. Tend to do lots of tasks other than just...

Our STL told us that he isn't even thinking about opening hiring again until maybe June at the earliest. We're meeting our Sales Goals and squeaking by with the coverage we have. Our seasonals have mostly been busts with maybe 1 making it per cycle. I think he's not willing to expend the effort...

Cashiers, Softlines, and Cart Attendant are usually the ones up on our board since those are the areas we're down in. STL does not plan to hire for awhile and is instead letting people in other areas to take the shifts to supplement their hours.

We used to have a Food Ave TM who knew 10 languages fluently. I was sad as hell the day he left us.

Archived Can an ETL force me to do cashier training?

It's primarily to familiarize people with the POS system and how it works. Everyone in the building should be at least familiar with it even if you're lucky enough to never be called to jump on a lane. I've never seen anyone get out of being cashier trained in our store. Once, we had a...

Archived Can an ETL force me to do cashier training?

Of course, but in optimal make believe world of Target, TMs will stop turning off their walkies and going on 15s when the GSTL calls for backup (Ahem, softlines).

Archived Can an ETL force me to do cashier training?

Believe me, man. Everyone in your building that is not a Cashier/GSTM is thinking the same thing. They all still have to do it whether or not they want to.
  20. JagStar

Archived Can an ETL force me to do cashier training?

Yes. That's usually how it goes as 95% of TMs in the building are expected to respond for backup if the lanes get busy. Nearly everyone needs to be familiar with how the Target POS works.
