    Archived Rotations

The rotating weekends thing only applies for the Leadership at my store. A couple of them even secured Thursdays off so every now and then they'll request a Friday off in conjunction with their off weekend for a nice 4 day weekend. My STL police's this though, they have to get her approval and...

Guest gave me a Target gift card! What should I do?!

AP would take point on this matter if it was a disciplinary matter so it'd probably be best if you just came clean to your APTL and turned over the gift card. Doing so would still fall into the realm of acting in a timely manner and there would be nothing dishonest going on, assuming you didn't...

Archived Am I Being Strung Along?

It seems to me then that you gotta figure out if you can successfully juggle school and being a TL at the same time. And if you even truly want to do that, it will be tiring and stressful at times. But as per the title of this thread and what you've said so far, I really don't think you're...

    Archived Vacation Denied?

Not all TLs are eligible to be LOD. But as others have suggested, if other eligible TLs are already taking that weekend off then that ETL has good cause to deny the vacation. Simply because there's nobody that can cover for her LOD shift. Only that ETL can speak to why the vacation was...

    Archived Vacation Denied?

Only said ETL can answer for why it was denied but if I had to guess, it was either because the schedule was already written for that week or because your spouse is due for LOD shifts that weekend. At my store at least, LOD shifts are planned out a lot further than just 2 weeks in advance.

Archived The Big & Dandy Backroom thread!

I'm backroom dayside and there are 2 types of shift for that. Mid shift (12-4): 12 to 1pm is auditing, responding to get for guests and item lookups. Sometimes I have to fix the line if it's cluttered and just a mess. Unload baler if it's full 1pm to 3 is pulling the 1pm CAFs, pushing them...

Archived Corrective action for zebra device

This is the first I've heard that losing a device means corrective action. Equipment usage was pretty relaxed when I first started, no signing them out. Then came plain printer paper and instructions sign out devices on that but very very few actually did because plain printer paper. Now we...

Archived Is your interviewer still your boss?

I was interviewed by my ETL-Logi and SrTL-Logi and they put me on dayside backroom. For the first month or 2 I didn't start work earlier than 3pm so I had absolutely no exposure to them outside of coming in on my time off. During those months, I reported to nobody. LODs left us alone in...

    Archived Interview next week

I wore black slacks and a white button up and I brought a pad and pencil. I had 1 interview with both my SrTL and ETL in Logistics, at the end of interview they gave me a different position than the one I applied and researched so the paper was particularly handy. I was able to write down...

    Archived Backroom dayside to Instocks

I've definitely been putting out fires in the form of poorly trained TMs, callouts and just about anything else lately. Sounds like I'm practically a shoe-in for Instocks at this point. But I can't complain, I get good hours, lots of recognition, and I'm fairing better in less time than any of...

    Archived Backroom dayside to Instocks

My store is a little on the smaller end of things in terms of square footage so we limited E2E to just Softlines and Market team.

    Archived Backroom dayside to Instocks

Would my ETL-HR at least be able to match what my pay currently is? I'm already working 35-40 hours a week so even if they give me a consistent 40 hours weekly, I'd still be taking a pay reduction and I'm really not in the best of positions to accept that.

    Archived Backroom dayside to Instocks

I'm just curious what that would mean for my pay. Currently I'm N07 as a dayside backroom TM and I was asked if I would be willing to move to Instocks, citing better opportunities to learn more about various processes and otherwise just grow here at Target. What is the pay grade that Instocks...

Archived Has anyone ever been turned away from working a shift if not scheduled

I tend to have my shift extended or called-in fairly frequently but the only times they'll turn me away is if there's no room on payroll or if keeping me on shift would mean I'd be getting overtime. Other than that they'll usually keep me around whenever they can afford to.

Archived Drinks on the sales floor....

Fortunately we don't have that problem. When it was first set up we even had cups with the Seattle's Best Coffee brand on them instead of generic cardboard or Styrofoam cups. Always got a chuckle when I was getting water.

Archived Drinks on the sales floor....

My TLs used to requisition a case of waters fairly regularly for the TMs to take from freely and there were 2 bags per floor tied to the end of an aisle so people would throw away the bottles in there but people started getting lazy. Half-finished and empty bottles everywhere. On tubs, the...

    Archived Morale

I learned that practically nobody is gonna follow up on my work like the 3rd week of being here, when I asked my BRTLs how they thought things were going and their response was simply asking me the same thing. And then again on my 2nd month in when I asked for more feedback and the guy that...

    Archived Recognition Cards

Damn, wish my store kept up on the recognition stuff. We have the little cards and the board for them but nobody has bothered to clean out the old cards so nobody uses that system anymore. Or even pays attention to it. Management routinely makes cards (think birthday cards but not just for...
