Resources for Humans (An HR Thread)

Thanks. I saw this thread when searching around. It still doesn’t answer my question though (because in the info for it, it states that the ODTM is no longer eligible for leave) about if Target is changing/eliminating the educational leave policy all together, or if his store is pushing college...

Resources for Humans (An HR Thread)

Popping back into this thread! I left Spot in 2020 when my DH got transferred but my son works for one of the stores in our new city. He’s been there about a year and will be headed to college away next month. He was told that spot’s changing the Educational leave policy and he’ll still have to...

    Archived Advice on changing workcenters?

Go to your ETL-HR or STL. In my store, we often lack training hours to get a TM training in a different workcenter so they can move. We haven’t had payroll to hire or train anyone since last November. STL controls where the hours are allocated. Also in my store, the team is being told they must...

    MEGATHREAD 2018-2019 Store Modernization Megathread

We had a GSTL step down to return to school full time. He wanted to stay with spot so he had to take a transfer to another store. He was not allowed to stay at our store.

    MEGATHREAD 2018-2019 Store Modernization Megathread

Today’s panic in our store is this: one of the ETL’s states that going forward, all TM’s are only to be scheduled in their coded/assigned workcenters. No more picking up shifts in other areas even if you are cross trained. I was given a list of TM’s that were spoken to and had chosen their...

    Archived Workday Questions

ASANTS, in my store, this is mostly for the team that was on boarded throughout November. We had our last large group brought on after BF, so they’ve only been working a month. As long as they were performing decently and had no attendance issues, were giving them a few more weeks to show us...

Would any of my HR friends mind sharing with me how many HR hours they get per week? Feel free to pm me if you don’t feel comfortable posting openly.

It can manually be done or it automatically changes over at the 165 day mark. We’re waiting on convering some of the seasonals we kept (TL assess performance.)

    Archived Workday Questions

I know as long as I’ve been in HR, when we hire people into our hiring system, we put standard hours of 20, regardless of the amount of hours a tm will be scheduled for. The only exception to that is TL’s who are guaranteed a minimum of 32.

ITA. I really don’t like having to correct 25ish punch corrections manually every Monday. My STL won’t let them ride because they like to keep a sharp eye on payroll. My thought is the tm’s be short in their paychecks once and they’ll remember to fix punches after that.

Late checking in but I’m here! This season has been shall we say “challenging” at my store. I am very ready for December to be over in more ways than one.

Archived Where did these reports go?

Since we adopted workday I’ve lost track of where to print some reports. I never got trained on workday. My ETL-HR told me to click around and figure it out myself 😳 Come to find out they don’t know how to use it much either. Every time I call HROC I get told to check the job aids in workday...

Archived Merit raises and bottom line increase

If I approach the HRBP it'll be seen as going against the leadership and I've seen leadership turn on team members. Not worth it. I can still complain about it here though, can't I? ;)

Archived Merit raises and bottom line increase

I'll take desperate for $1000 Alex! We have a hard time filling positions so its a matter of getting people in the door. If they are qualified that's a bonus.

I know that. You know that. My ETL and STL simply don't care.

Archived Merit raises and bottom line increase

I have tried. "It's now your role." My ETL hasn't done an orientation in over a year. My STL also supports me doing orientations so I can't go to them.

Archived Merit raises and bottom line increase

I'll share that I've been with the company between 5-10 years. Due to the starting wage bump ups, I make about 25 cents more than a new hire but 25 cents LESS than the 16 year olds we hire with no experience for softlines. Just ran an orientation a few weeks ago with 4 minors, all with NO...

Do you have to write the schedule? Do you run orientations? Do you clean the break room and TSC? Do you screen applicants in JAS and do pre interviews and make job offers? Do you listen to TM's complain to you on a daily basis about their schedules, hours, fellow team members? The stuff that...

Archived late to orientation - rejected

I've kept my mouth shut on this thread up until now. Mom, stop fighting your kid's battles for them. I'm a parent. I understand. But your store HR seems to have made the decision (based on the information they had at the time) and you should respect it. They've both learned a lesson here...

Archived eHR not letting me complete w2 form?

Give it a day or two. Sometimes it takes a few days for the system to catch up with new hires, even when we aren't having outage problems. There's no paycheck issues if you delay in filling out your tax forms. You'll still get paid as scheduled.
