I didn't. Part of me wishes I had...but honestly, my grasp for foreign languages is so bad, that I think it would have been an exercise in futility.

    Archived Planning to leave Target

I doubt they care about a professional letter. They just need the official paperwork filled out. Do not give one day over a two week notice. I did, and it was not fun. As soon as they know you are leaving, you are cut from the "circle of trust" and you are dirt on the bottom of the ETLs' shoes.

    Archived What happens now?

Future employers will not be able to speak to anyone at your store. If they call your store, they are given the 800 number to call. They will only verify your dates of employment.

I've been considering something like that. But that will have to wait until it's official. :D

Lots of them, actually! I will say, I am sticking around. You all are great people, and I want to stay connected. And I am curious to see how things go for Target...and it's good to hear about it from those who really know what's going on. That said...I may need a name change....since I'm no...

    Archived And just like that....

...it's all over. Today was my last day at the big bullseye on the highway. Right before Thanksgiving I was given a job offer in my field. The only thing that got me through this holiday season was knowing I would soon be done. I have my notice right before Christmas, and that incredibly long...

    Archived That's a bummer...

Ask your ETL if they would be willing to help transfer you over there. We've done that before for seasonals we couldn't keep but who were good and wanted to stay on.

    Archived Might be outta here!

They wouldn't give you two week's notice if they wanted you gone. Why should you return the favor when generally we need the job more than they need us? I know it's the "right" thing to do, but only because it benefits the big guy...which sucks. That said, I still say do it when you can because...

    Archived Industries?

I think the OP is wondering those who go to school as well as work...good places that will work with a student's schedule.

    Archived 2 Weeks Left!

No employer likes someone who tries to pull the, "I want a raise or promotion or I am quitting." They don't like to be held hostage and it tells them you aren't interested in even faking loyalty, so there's no reason to give in.

Archived After 2 years with target I am gone

I think I'm confused. If the schedule was already up, why would they ask you to take the time off in mytime? You can't ask for time off for a schedule that's already written. They should have either told you to put the shifts on the swap board or taken you off the schedule and dealt with it...

    Archived Leaving Seasonal Job

Meh. Seasonal people not showing up are a dime a dozen this time of year. If you're really unhappy, and it's making you sick, then it's definitely time to leave. Just call HR up in the morning, thank them for the opportunity, and tell them you won't be coming back. That gives them a little time...

I was hospitalized and needed to call in for that time. Last time I was out for two weeks. I knew when I called that I wouldn't be able to give an exact date, but that I could give them a few days that I wouldn't be in. So when I went into the hospital on a Wednesday, I made it clear that I...

    Archived Job Dilemma

The OP said he is not in school right now. If you were in school, you could get an educational LOA at my store for an internship. But because you're not in school, that's pretty dicey and could depend on the mood of the ETL team.

    Archived Job Dilemma

This might mean six months of working 7 days a week, where you commute for the five days and work Spot on the weekends. Then you'll still have Spot if you need, but you can still get the valuable contacts and experience that $$$ can't buy.
