Archived How to deal with call outs?

This. But in my store at least, those changes are almost always denied.

Archived How to deal with call outs?

I'm not a TL but my workcenter had a huge issue with attendance in the past. My leaders had conversations with everyone who was late or called out and then they documented each time. I think once a month is excessive but twice in a week is ridiculous.

Archived ETL-HR locked a minor in the store overnight

We had an ETL lock an adult tm in the store once, but we've got precautions in place to ensure this doesn't happen. First of all, minors in our state cannot work past 9:30. Closing tms are never allowed to leave at the end of the night unless the LOD or TLOD checks their name off on the grid to...

    Archived Fake Leaders

Our BR is a SR so he's a key carrier to but typically comes in around 6am. But my STL would have a cow if our ETL-LOG didnt show up until 6 or 7. Dang. They typically work 4am- well into the afternoon, as late as 2-3pm.

    Archived Fake Leaders

So youre a 4am store but your ETL-LOG does not come in at that hour? Flow TL does have keys if the ETL is off though.

    Archived Hardlines TL

Do other tms in your workcenter come to you for help? Does leadership count on you to handle TL-level tasks if your TL isn't there? This seems to be what they look for in my store. We have a lot of turnover in my workcenter (SL), and our new tms always know they can come to me with questions...

    Archived Question for Plano/Pricing TL's

Yes. A volume here. Two SrTLs with only one or two LOD shifts a week. If its their weekend on, then possibly three.

    Archived Question for Plano/Pricing TL's

Maybe my store's just weird but we have two SR TLs in the store: BR/instocks and salesfloor. Our old salesfloor SRTL left and our PPTL got the SR job but he got moved to the salesfloor role instead and we got a new PPTL from another store in our district.

    Archived Promoting to ETL

Seems to be kind of half internal and half external in my store/district. Out of my store's five: two were external, one promotion from TM, one promotion from SrTL, and one moved from a corporate role.

    Archived Promoting to ETL

Had an ETL-HR move up to STL. Also seen a GE I believe.

    Archived Promoting to ETL

We have 2 ETLs who were promoted within the last couple years. One was a salesfloor SRTL, the other a TPS. I would guess anyone could promote.

    Archived Training Tips

I dislike training people, but if I must I start off with asking them what they have learned so far. Then I'll figure out how to fill in those gaps. I typically have the person shadow me for a bit, then have them try to duplicate what I do. I emphasize to them that they should do things in a way...

    Archived Leader Routines

I'm not a TL but this is about right for mine: check email, hang out in TSC for a while, come to sales floor, complain to other leaders about your work load, do a bit of work, hang out and complain some more, take a break thats more than 15 minutes, do a bit of work, complain cause you get...

Archived What makes an awesome ETL?

I think what makes an awesome ETL is: -someone not afraid to get his/her hands dirty. Learn the entire store. You should at least know the basics of every workcenter's responsibilities. -someone who listens to team members and does not play favorites. -someone who gives recognition when...

Archived Softlines Team Leaders - HELP.

I hope my store leadership doesn't see this post lol it might give them ideas. We do rewraps, defectives, and empty packages, but wiping mirrors and walls? Nope. Our cleaners do that. We only cover operator breaks in the morning, but at night, we are operator. This schedule is only for the...

    Archived TL Issues

They already have their favorite/pick for the bench, but because my store promotes based on seniority, I guess they kinda have to at least pretend to consider me first. I am a pretty global tm and am known for that in my store. This bugs my leads, particularly the one, to no end. Sometimes I've...

    Archived TL Issues

Because these people have the power to give or deny me a raise? And because its unfair to blame me for the entire team's failure to finish the work? Opting out of chats isn't an option if I want to stay on everyone's good side.
