    Starbucks Team Leaders

Both our SBTL and FATL stepped down when they announced this. Neither wanted to deal with having to be in charge of both workcenters, and now leadership at my store is scrambling to find someone to fill the position.

Before you sign your life away...

I'm afraid that this is going to happen with our most recent ETL-OPs. He's inheriting a difficult workcenter in an atypical store during the worst time of the year, and has been pulling 12-14 hour days consistently since he's taken over. He's a good dude, a great leader, and I hope that he is...

    Archived GSA Pay/Negotiations

Not likely at all for them to budge on the pay, especially not for a seasonal position. I myself went from GSA to Backroom, and it's infinitely better in my personal opinion. I'd look into it, maybe look at MEGATHREAD - The Big & Dandy Backroom thread! which is just a megathread about anything...

Archived Is becoming a GSA worth it?

You probably were doing a great job and that's why they considered you for the position, you should still feel some pride from that. We just don't want you to get into it without knowing the risks. For all we know, your store has a perfect leadership team that fully supports their GSAs, and it...

Archived Is becoming a GSA worth it?

I've posted more than enough rants about the GSA position and my experience with it, but I'll just drop these here.

Archived Is becoming a GSA worth it?

On top of that, you also get to have the pleasure of simultaneously being a TM in a supervisory roll. By this, I mean that you are a TL when it's convenient and a TM when it isn't. You're expected to act like a leader and drive your team to success, but it isn't "your team" and you lack all the...

Archived Is becoming a GSA worth it?

Definitely depends on the store. My store has a base pay of $10.50, so a GSA should make at minimum $11/hr.

Archived Possible to be a TL without open availability?

Depends heavily on the store. One of our GSTL's is a college student, so he pretty much has a set schedule. He has class 3 times a week, 2 of them are his day off and the always closes on the third. One of the SLTL's also has a limited availability.

Archived Is becoming a GSA worth it?

Unless you aspire to become a TL/ETL with Target in the future or if you a complete masochist, I would steer clear. It's a stressful and thankless job unless you have superb leadership, and even then it can be rough. The $0.50 raise isn't anywhere near worth it. Take it from those of us who...

    Archived GSA POSITION

Not entirely sure if this is one that we will be able to answer unless someone here is also in your state. In my state, you only have to be 18 to sell alcohol so any GSA over 18 is fine. I was 18 when I promoted to GSA.

    Archived Discussion #1000: GSA/GSTL

1 Sr. GTSL, 1 newbie GSTL, and one FATL/GSTL who splits his time about 24/16 between Cafe and the front lanes. We only have 2 GSAs currently, which was a bit of a surprise to me. During last holiday season when I was a GSA, we had the 1 Sr. GSTL, 1 GSTL, and 6 GSAs including myself. In an ideal...

    Archived ETL Operations

As HLM said, ETL OPS is a position mostly used at larger stores that have a dedicated ETL-REPL who is in charge of Flow, unload, overnight backroom, etc. while ETL-OPS oversees dayside logistics processes. So as an ETL-OPS, you will be responsible for dayside Backroom, Instocks, SFS/ESFS...

That's so not fair, most people (including me) only got a $0.50 paygrade raise fromt that jump

Archived ETL/TL heirarchy: To whom do you answer to?

When we actually had our BRTL dayside, he was the one that you answered to. Even if an ETL wants you to do something else, you would do whatever our BRTL told you to do because he's top dog and the backroom is his domain. Obvious exceptions apply if it's something simple that takes less than a...

    Archived Self Check Out Question...

Instead of standing around, what they should be doing is trying to grab guests who are in line from other lanes who have very few items and asking if they want them to use SCO instead. Also, we usually rotate SCO TM's every couple of hours or so since almost all of the cashiers worth their salt...

    Archived GSA Help!

Same store here. I was supposed to have a whole shift of training with my Sr. GSTL and to sponge information off of him, but because it was super busy I basically just acted as a separate GSA without any training. Since I had been cashier and Service Desk for so long, I knew how to do things...

Archived GSTL's and GSA's breaking during busy lunch period.

As a high volume store, the thought that the front end break schedule could only take up one page is mind boggling. I remember during fourth quarter when our break schedule was usually 3-5 pages long.

Archived No more e-mail outside of Target for non-exempts

Yes, and that's the one thing that I miss about being a GSA. Without email it feels really difficult to communicate with Leadership when none of our shifts overlap. Once you're keyed for GSA you should have access to email by going onto Workbench, clicking "Hotmail", and logging in with your TM#...

Archived New in Position GSTL - Advice?

I always seemed to get good results with just telling the cashiers, "Look, I know it's a pain and having to ask for RedCards suck, I was a cashier too, but that's your job just as much as mine is to remind you about it. Just ask, that's all I want." Most of them appreciated the honesty and would...
