    Becoming an ETL

We've had the same HR ETL for the almost 5 years I've been at my store.

Transferring a TL to department that didn't have one before.

Since you added the 2nd part after. Yes, that's generally how it works. I do what my job requires and go out of the way to do more if needed & get a maximum raise every year. Would a TL taking on extra work and excelling get a better raise than someone mad that they had extra work? Probably...

Transferring a TL to department that didn't have one before.

If they're expected to take on more work load that requires hours to support it (depends on what it is), then they should get the added hours to support. If not, upper management shouldn't be surprised if/when it fails.

Transferring a TL to department that didn't have one before.

Eh, my department is taking on more responsibility because other departments can't find good people to do what they need. We're not getting more TL's to oversee the new responsibilities. (We are getting hours to staff the new responsibilities from those departments) Our TL's look at it as a way...

Transferring a TL to department that didn't have one before.

You said they were upset because no one knew about the opening? 🤷‍♂️

Transferring a TL to department that didn't have one before.

If the TL is getting mad over something like that, they're probably not going to be a huge loss.

Question about policy on promoting to PML

I just went through and looked at all our TL's & ETL's on our picture board and every single TL was promoted from within. ~85%+ of the ETL's were as well. Only our AP ETL and Closing ETL are outsiders from other stores. 110 mil+ store, so we have lots of leaders.

Question about policy on promoting to PML

Majority of our ETL's were internally promoted from TL's. That's not a corporate directive.

    I wasn't allowed to interview

It's worked at our store. I'd say 90% of the promotions have been internal for the 4ish years I've worked here. The other 10%, generally don't last very long. For us, at least, it resolves the common lament I see repeated so often here. If you can do it, show me. People shut up when the ETL...

    Becoming a TL

Yeah, our store is probably an anomaly, out of the norm for sure. We're a bunch of nuts and that's why I love it. People are happy and content where they are in life for the most part, and go the extra mile to support the people they work for.

    Becoming a TL

Of course, you're always going to have potential candidates already lined up in the event of someone leaving, terminated, etc. Sound business practice. I interviewed almost a year ago and was told there weren't any positions open due to the high retention we have. No one in the entire...

Any ideas on what the PG45 to ETL pay increase is looking like these days?

Yup, we also have some TM's on 4x10's as well. That extra day off is great!

Any ideas on what the PG45 to ETL pay increase is looking like these days?

Our ETL's are scheduled 4x10's (generally go over though due to meetings, etc.). Inbound TL's also do 4x10's.

    Opening vs Closing Pay?

15 minutes is the minimum punch correction afaik. My ETL texted me 5 minutes before I clocked in because they needed to speak to me about something that happened the previous night before I headed off to start the unload. I got a 15 minute PC.

What to do when a TL seems out to get you?

Did they give you something to do, and upon completion, you went off on your own to clean? Our TL's only check up on people's locations when they aren't where they are expected to be working. People may mean well, but the TL's may have tasks that need to be completed, and want you to check in...
