Archived New ETL wanting to change departments

ETL positions are typically on 18 month rotations. They will not switch you unless it benefits them to do so. Sounds like you need to decide what is more important. Work or grad school. To be honest starting a new role like ETL it's probably going to be hard to balance both no matter what...

Archived ETL-HR locked a minor in the store overnight

Our district had a ETL AP lock a guest in the store. He was already on final for a bad apprehension about 6 months prior. He was termed about 3 days later. Don't lock anyone in the store.

Archived Who else was an internal who promoted?

It is the same pay. I also do first interviews for TPS positions when my APTL is unavailable. While I don't have full power to coach TMs, I am allowed to coach for safety and other AP related issues. Only way I would consider taking APTL is if they offered me the equivalent of SRTL pay grade.

Archived Who else was an internal who promoted?

Seasonal Flow..... Regular backroom/presentation TM..... TPS.... SR TPS.... APS..... And now SR APS being pushed towards APTL (which I don't want).

Archived Skipping a tier or 2 when promoting from TM to a management role?

I saw a longtime TM get promoted to ETL shortly after they finished their degree. They're now on their second rotation and will soon be STL.

    Archived Hours/week for salary TMs

The hotline has legitimate reasons to be used and I suggest it in certain situations. This isn't one of them. If you call because you feel leaders are leaving early it won't go anywhere. And will most likely come back to bite you.

    Archived Hours/week for salary TMs

In this instance salary vs hourly employees actually fall under two different sets of rules. Whether you think it's fair or not doesn't really matter. Ultimately it falls on the leadership when the store fails, not the TMs. And like another user stated, you really don't know what work they're...

    Archived Hours/week for salary TMs

It's not an AP issue. And honestly it depends on how many hours they aren't working. It's a pretty slow time of the year for most stores. A lot of those people will be working 60 hour weeks come the busy times. The 40 hour work week is standard for salary employees. But overtime must be paid...

    Archived SrTL Interview

Theoretically speaking if you pass the interview with the DTL then have the interview with the new STL it should be just a meet and greet.

    Archived Team Lead Pay

Yea that's what mine would say. Unless approved OT is pretty much forbidden at my store. And I mean even a single minute. I've seen people coached over it. I do abuse the holiday weeks though. Usually I get my ETL to let me work a double on the holiday in addition to my regular 40 hours on the...

    Archived SrTL Interview

I've heard that TLs don't have to interview with the DTL in most districts now. I'm not sure if the same could be said about SR TL. If you only have to interview with your stores leadership and they already like you then it shouldnt be too bad. I know your answers should be of higher scope then...

    Archived Do NOT text me

My first ETL AP was notorious for texting me when I wasn't at work. I never actually did any punch corrections, but on several occasions I flat out ignored the messages. Finally he asked me one day "why don't you reply to my messages when I text you?" When I explained I could do punch...

    Archived TLs scheduling themselves

All of our TLs pretty much have set schedules. Rotating weekends, same week day off, and usually work a close every week. Weekend closes (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) rotate. Our GSAs and TPSs also get rotating weekends, along with the same week day off. I write my own schedule along with the...

Archived No more e-mail outside of Target for non-exempts

TPS not having email is the dumbest thing. There is absolutely no reason GSA should have it but not TPS.

    Archived Tl interview

Used to be pretty much everyone in my district that made it past the ETL and STL interviews would have the job and the DTL interview was pretty much a formality. However now we have a newer DTL and I would say about 30% of the people don't make it past the DTL interview now. She is a lot more...

Archived team leaders and avability questions

You pretty much need open availability to be a TL at Target. You might get away with having one day during the week that's unavailable but other than that I doubt they would consider you. All of our TLs rotate weekends so they have a set day off during the week and that's it.

Archived Who is allowed to boss me around?

I'm speaking about TPS. Of course I wouldn't be asked to do stuff like push cafs. And let's be clear. I'm not saying it's okay for AP to be asked to do non-AP things. But to say ETLs can be put on final for asking is way over exaggerated.
