Archived How long did it take you to become a GSA?

My ETL started seriously talking about it about 5 months in, though had been talking about it on and off for a few months before that. It was 7 months in before a spot opened up.

    Archived GSTL Pay

I went to Lowe's Sunday night. There were no cashiers. None. I walked by guest services where two people were standing...asked if I could check out there (it was closer). The answer was no, and they pointed me to the self check outs. Then I looked down and realized there wasn't a single lane...

    Archived GSA Help!

That's the fun of a GSA position that you don't really understand until you do it. Everything you do will be wrong. Every decision will be questioned by someone. Everyone has an opinion on how you could do your job better. Cashiers, salesfloor, TLs and ETLs. If they haven't been there, they will...

    Archived question for TL's & Sr. TL's

How other TM's issues are handled isn't anyone else's business. They can't tell you if someone is written up, on a corrective action, or whatnot. You would want the same respect if you were disciplined for some reason. That said, it takes a long time to get someone fired, if they are looking to...

    Archived Target for a reference

Yep. Other jobs on par with Target don't care...they'all hire anyone and know the former employer won't say anything. Other professional jobs don't care about the fact you worked retail.

    Archived Target for a reference

Target doesn't care at all about protecting anyone but themselves. They (like every other business) don't give out anything but dates of work because they want to avoid the possibility of being sued for slander if someone finds out they didn't give a favorable review. Best to make friends with...

    Archived Target Cafe Hours

At it's lowest peak, my non-Pizza Hut Food Ave would get about 50 hours a week. That may be high, by the time you figure a lunch in there, though.

@CoquiAzul is a TL. He just has zero idea what you meant by ESTL (nor do I) and was seeking clarification.

    Archived Hr cleared training

What are you going to achieve by "proving" they signed off on your trainings? Aren't you a TL? That means you are responsible for getting those trainings done. They had to clear them so they wouldn't get in trouble for your failure to get them done on time. If you have attendance issues as a...

Archived Gay/ lesbian/ LGBT - any ETLs, STLs, DTLs, or higher?

My STL when I left was Phillipino. My ETL-HR when I started was Indian (as in the country). She was since promoted to STL (much to our delight....we were happy to see her gone). We had a black ETL when I started...and another black SrTL. They were both termed eventually. My favorite GSTL turned...

Archived GSTL's and GSA's breaking during busy lunch period.

Covering breaks is way different than making a break out and juggling breaks and lunches that align with Target policy and dealing with a bunch of cashier who think they can do it better. It doesn't matter when they go. Stuff can come up any time. The key is having the support available to...

Archived GSTL's and GSA's breaking during busy lunch period.

What's the difference between pulling a capable cashier to cover for half an hour or sending a cashier to lunch at noon? Either way you are down that cashier. And the way the breaks and lunches fall, someone has to go then. Sorry. I did a lot of break outs for breaks and lunches...the only...

Archived GSTL's and GSA's breaking during busy lunch period.

Yep, any cashier who complained would be shown the grid, and asked exactly how they would rectify it so there were no other overlaps. That usually shut them down pretty quick. Your ETLs and other TLs are dropping the ball by not covering the front.

Archived GSTL's and GSA's breaking during busy lunch period.

Well...I was in a five hour state. So if I worked 7:30 to 3:30 (or so). There were times I would have myself, my cashier and my GSTM that all needed to go about the same time. So that meant I went at 11:30pm. If I could shove it back to noon, I would. But that was really only if the 8am cashier...

    Archived ETL vacation time question

I can't speak for any ETLs, but at my new job, I now get 4 weeks vacation a year. I am quite aware how unusual this is and how most people never get that much after a million years working at the same place, much less getting it right from the start. So I don't make much mention of it, and do my...

First thing you have to do is tell them you are interested in being developed.
