Archived that whole thing about how etls have to be hot and 22

Complete crap. I can tell you first hand, yes communication skills are important, but they're second to being analytical and a problem solver. Usually by the time your are an effective store manager or ASM that has worked their way up, you have developed your communication skills. This rubbish...

    Archived Sr TL Hardlines struggling

Man, it's been a while since I've been around, but not much has changed. As a HL SrTL, you are 100% set up for failure. There is no way to get 100 sales planners done, do 3 LOD shifts, and drive BS like AAR. When I left my ULV store about 10 months ago, we were running on less than 1800...

Archived AE 2012 - Team Leaders

Sorry I havent been around much lately guys. Sorry also that some didn't aprecieate the info. Just trying to give a last tidbit to my "real" Target family. If there's anything I've learned from posting thousands of posts on the old breakroom, its that the people that care what we post don't...

Archived AE 2012 - Team Leaders

I am currently holding in my hands a copy of something called "low volume structure test" fresh off of sharepoint. It details problems and possible solutions to issues with the upcoming test in several stores where TL's are eliminated completely. It's not rumor folks. its fact, and its coming to...

    Archived Instock TL question..

Honestly, it sounds like you're going into this WAY too hot. When you are a New In Role TL (less than 6 months in position) you will have very little power when it comes to corrective actions without partnering with your HR and STL, because ultimately, they have to sign off on it before it can...

Archived Question about executive intern program

Direct from an email from my Group Director, the goal for conversion from intern to etl is 80%. The one in my store is in the summer of her junior year. She has less college than me, is a lower pay grade, can only be LOD when one of us is there, and is a ditzy valley girl, yet she thinks she can...

Archived What exactly do they do when they walk the store at 7am?

In a ULV it's more of a formality at LOD turnover times to make a lap together while you go over anything the other one needs to know. You could easily do this standing at the TSC, but sometimes walking by something jogs your memory i guess...

Archived ETL'S and TL's thoughts.. Perceptive Interview ques..

If the TL does not recommend the applicant, there is not supposed to be a job offer. Granted, that could probably get overruled or changed by the TL if the STL got involved. They always have to do two interviews regardless of whether or not the applicant passed the first. It's policy.
