    Archived Leverage.

I've seen people show the job offer in writing to their superior to see if they're willing to match. If not, go.

    Archived ETL-AP position going away?

I never really saw the use for it, anyway. They increased the # of APBPs and APTLs without ETLs ran internals, anyway. If they're reducing the responsibility away from store support, might as well nix the ETL and make APTLs do everything.

Archived TL is on missed punch report.

I was on the punch correction sheet like every other day. I didn't care to wait around 8 more minutes for my lunch to be done or if I had to cut I'd just figure out some time to leave early. There's too much going on to stick to a strict schedule and my ETL was usually aware of stuff like that.

    Archived Insubordination

You can challenge, you cannot decline to follow a reasonable request. That is how Target works. You're saying that a TM should be allowed to say no to their leader as long as they feel the request was 'stupid or counterproductive'. If the TM needs more information, they can ask. If they do not...

    Archived Surprise visit.

We had a meeting that put the focus onto selling and guest servicing rather than filling the floor or worrying about how many u-boats are on the line. How embarrassing it must be to be a market TM and have to excuse yourself to the line so you can get them a jar of prego off a uboat that no one...

Archived New Flow Lead in need of info

Old or not, unloading a truck is basic flow TM stuff. If they can't meet their core roles, they should not be on the flow team. Try to bring in more talent in the meantime.

Archived How long did it take you to earn a promotion?

Promotions are pretty political, makes me wonder who the person they hired is. It could be a lot of things, maybe your ETL/STL thought that they could hold onto you longer and that they were in danger of losing that person if they weren't promoted, maybe they're truly ready for a leadership...

Archived New Flow Lead in need of info

Yes, E2E info would help. Your start would be to check RWT against your scheduled hours. Maybe even check MyTime to see if flow is over or under posted. Flow TL will require ammo at all times if your team is under that much scrutiny.

    Archived Struggling with TL interviews

Really kind of depends on the situation you're in. Maybe your STL really wants to make sure you're ready, but with TL interviews being in house now, they're typically kind of a formality now. Maybe if you're being sent elsewhere it might be a bit different, maybe someone else has some...

    Archived Ship from Store TL

Right, if their goal of emptying backrooms is to come to fruition, there wouldn't be a need to remodel. Hopes and prayers, though.

    Archived Ship from Store TL

SFS TL feels misleading. We're using our PPTL as their workload is light after christmas set to run SFS on a day-to-day. An SFS TL, outside of 4th quarter, doesn't really make sense as a permanent position. All they would really do is...pick and pack. Unless you're doing 750+ orders on the daily...

Archived How do you find out if you passed the TL interviews?

Used to vary, I think interviews are more formality if you're staying in-store if the interviews are at store level?

    Bench advice

One of my friends has done it, just requires having the right people have your back. They just held off on LOD duties until he was a few months in, then let him ease into it.

    Archived ETL

Agreed, I think ETL days are widely numbered. Fewer spots and more competition, can't really bank on getting past TL once more and more changes roll out.

Thought at least R100 had this already? We've had it for a while, it' s pretty balls for your unload, it's where we bottleneck the most.

Archived New ETL-LOG, looking for tips

I can tell you what I need from my ETL: - Getting your hands dirty. There are times for teaching moments and times to just get shit done and we can go over the details and discussion later. - Offer suggestions often. I know what I'm doing but sometimes bouncing ideas and asking questions helps...
