    Archived Flow Huddle

Ours is usually recognition, where we are with truck and the goal and plan for the day, any important news we need to let know such as visits or special discounts anything else that's important. A few times when payroll is awful it's a simple Ok payroll sucks back to work.

Archived Anyone else hate doing phone interviews?

Same here I hate the phone interviews, I like to see who I'm talking to. We talked our HR into doing in person interviews for 4th quarter last year and this year, they have that option. It makes hiring your seasonal help a lot quicker especially if your ETL is around to do the 2nd right away.

Archived Scans w/ Location % score -- some questions about processes

Best thing to do is get the flow team on a normal routine. Example every day they work grocery, D & E before anything else, the move on from there. Instocks should be able to jump in behind them worst case when they catch up they might either skip that area for now or zone some of the bad aisles...

Archived What does it take for an ETL to get dismissed/transferred?

Without drilling down to far to make it obvious where I am, well say In my area 6 ETL logisitics have been "let go". These are not new fresh out of college ETL's these are people that have been with company for 10+ years each. A couple of them have been fired on the spot after visits from the...

Archived Logistics i need ur help

Your welcome, but no, no one else is running a 3pm unload nor anything similar to what your doing. You have a severely broken process and yea an ETL that is a complete moron, not to mention your STL if they cant pick up on this. Logistics is the backbone of the store if it fails the store fails...

Archived Logistics i need ur help

Sounds like your a 4am store, I'm assuming the powers that be assume unloading at 330pm is a good idea to get a jump on the truck. First off, its not a good idea, second if your struggling to get done when the early morning crew comes in then its not working since a lot of the work load is done...

Archived Logistics i need ur help

Archived Backroom/Instocks TL -- I need a bit of help...

Since you've been instocks I would concentrate on the backroom to start with. Work with the team and get to know them like you do with the instocks (I Hope). Get to know what their routines are both dayside BR and early/overnight BR. In the end go by your scores, where do you have the most...

Archived Was I in the wrong?

I wouldn't have walked to them and told them "sorry cant help I'm off". The powers that be know your schedule and know your off more then likely. I would just announce over the walkie "hey team this is the cart attendant Im gone for the day". Then immediately turn off the walkie, turn in your...

Archived Team members working under the influence?

Your ETL's should be acting on this and it should be obvious. If someone suspects it they have to look into it, send for testing, send them home or something. If you don't feel something is being done bring it to HR, STL then Integrity hotline. Yes what people do on their own time none of...

    Archived Business walks...

Hated the business walks, hate the vibe book... I am always a month or more behind on it, luckily my ETL isn't very good at keeping up with paperwork either. It takes the HR to get onto him to sit down with me and basically just pencil whip it real quick, he signs it and we turn it in...

Archived New Backroom/Instocks TL with Accuracy and zoning issues

Sounds like your off to a good start with the relocating a few aisles on non truck days, empty location audits and so forth. Following up with your team is key, especially if the previous TL didnt push zoning and best practice as much. You will have to follow up and start weeding out team...
