    Archived LEAD Academy

My ETL HR has requested feedback from me because they are attending LEAD Academy. I’m wondering if anyone has information on this Academy. I don’t really know much. I know a previous ETL of mine went last year and then was signed off to be an STL. Are these things a good thing that they only...

    Archived ETL-AP position going away?

Doubt it with the focus on shortage right now. New direction from our Regional SVP no AP LOD shifts

Archived Senior Sales Floor Team Leader Interview

For Senior, it’s the same guide as team leader. Obviously the responses are expected to be higher scope though

    Archived Interview Process For Tl's

Yeah what was the feedback and also what was the TL position because that plays a role as well. Your STL should've reached out for feedback

Archived myTime/Kronos Schedule Edit Access for Leaders

Yeah unfortunately you have to be a key holder now to make changes to the schedule. It sucks but makes sense as before there were a lot of hands in the schedule making unnecessary changes that didn't make sense for the business. I usually will ask the HR TM to login on a computer for me or an...

Archived Grounds for a Corrective Action

I just say "you will be held accountable for your actions today. Once I take a partner with HR and find out what that is, I'll let you know."

Archived Applying for a "higher" position as TL

I would agree with you but I would say the only exception would be interviewing for another position at Target. You will look foolish by both leaderships because the first thing theyll do is call up your ETL HR to ask how you are as an employee and your ETL is blinded.

Archived Question for HLTLs out there.

I wouldn't get too caught up in which areas I own and I don't venture out of there. Yes, everyone should have their own designated areas and plan accordingly for that workload. You should not be setting sales planners in someone else's department. But if the TL is not there and endcaps are...

Archived TLs! How much do you make an hour and how many hours do you average per week?

    $37 an hour? That's over $75,000 a year

Archived Incoming Sr. TL - advice needed

I would try to keep an open mind. A lot of times people have a different way of doing things. It might be a better way and things you could implement.

    Archived Internal vs external?

Yeah usually you're at a disadvantage when you're applying internally for a promotion. Based off the details you described, you seem qualified for the ETL position but would have to climb the ranks internally (this could take years) . I'm in a similar situation whereas I have a business degree...

    Archived Lateral Movements

The org chart will be the same for the entire year based on last years sales so it'll say right on the fact sheet what your sales were in 2016 and that's what 2017 org chart is based off of.

    Archived Lateral Movements

In February the org chart changes so they use this time to move people around/promotions

    Archived TL Interviews

To echo the others, it's easy to be comfortable in the front because that's where you have the most experience but don't limit yourself. Push yourself out of your comfort zone. You weren't an expert when you first started in the front but through your experiences and possibly failures you...

    Archived Upcoming ETL interviews

That's a good point I have missed. I'm also up for ETL I will be interviewing with my STL January week one. From there he will make the call if I'm ready and send me out to interview with another STL before interviewing with our DTL. I've been studying with the questions on Glassdoor but if...

Archived How to deal with call outs?

Trust me I was a new TL working in FA with a small team. I know what it's like to be a new team leader and working along side the team all day. A lot of times you might feel like another team member and they might see you that way. You just have to be firm about things to show them that you're...

Archived How to deal with call outs?

Have a PDD after 3 attendance issues (call out or late in/out). be clear that you will be following up with them regarding their attendance in two weeks. Make sure you say failure to improve their attendance will result in further corrective action. If they have another 3 instances ask them if...

    Archived Consumables/Food TL Position

Food TL is a massive undertaking. Market is a beast in and of itself. When you add to that Starbucks and Cafe, it can be overwhelming. You're in charge of all food safety and depending on how good the team is, it could be very challenging. You'll be bouncing around the whole store trying to...

Archived Our former VMTL is still acting like a TL...

Currently SFS captain for 4th quarter. Also Food Safety captain. I have a bachelors in business so when talking to my STL he said we'll see how I do in this new assignment and see if I'm ready to be signed off. What is your position?

Archived Our former VMTL is still acting like a TL...

I don't really care for my VML so I was sort of pleased when I heard the news but now I hear she is still "being utilized as a leader by our STL" and they'll probably end up giving her another TL position or signing her off for ETL but her attitude is horrible.
