I can kind of understand the logic since it's a pretty good tell for when someone is a TL/ETL at the stores I've worked at. Never had a guest make that jump in logic, but I've definitely used it to spot leadership when working outside my home store.

Just curious, does your store not carry it? DPCI should be 085-04-0391

Something my store did for SFS and OPU was have the entire team stay on 3 for their shifts. That way we didn't have to worry about too much walkie chatter on channel 1 when we needed OPU/SFS and no one's walkie had to be turned off. Alternatively you could probably use channel 2 instead since...

    Archived TM taking guest survey

It's a behavior that is specifically forbidden, we're talking about the falsifying of information here. I can't pull it up but I guarantee it's forbidden somewhere in the Information Security Policy, which you signed as part of your training. Also, even if it weren't/isn't specifically...

Umm, personally I'd say there's still treasure to find. I found a copy of MLB 2K10 in the electronics stockroom (in 2018) once, plus a Google pixel 3 and two Gizmowatches another time

The Things Guests Do/Pet Peeves Thread

I'm going to second Tessa here. If you're at the point of actively hating going to work or the idea of work stresses you out, it's time to quit and find something better. On that note, I can guarantee that a different job will bring different types of days and interactions. Yeah, you'll still...

Unfortunately you're probably right. If you want to try and start changing the way the GSTL and others handle those situations, I might suggest going to your ETL (or simply a different ETL if yours is the one overriding street date) and simply ask them what the right way to handle street dated...

This is something I've seen various TL/ETLs try at certain points in my career with Spot. Long story short, the ones that choose to do this are generally not going to be with the company long for entirely separate reasons. Using the no barcode option is doubly bad, as well. Not only does it...

TTOG: please let your granddaughter have some say in her own birthday gift. The whole point of her going shopping with you was to pick something out that she wanted, not to have you criticize or disbelieve her every time she showed interest in an item or had a question for me. Then you turn...

Does this not happen on a regular basis at most stores? It's a very common occurrence for two of the three locations I've worked at.

Hopefully, that is. Sometimes the TLs end up so swamped/disorganized/unconcerned that the conversations never or rarely happen. At that point it's difficult for the leads to get back in the habit.

TTOGSTL: I understand you're following the "guest obsessed" mentality (whatever that changes from last month) but could you just once stick to policy and have your GSA's back? I told the guest what price match policy was and that we couldn't match the clearance water bottles to a different store...

I don't think they did attempt to ring it up. From how I read it, they instead offered to call the GSTL so they could check a different store.

Ah, that would be the difference. We don't have an OPU shift for half the day. It falls to backroom most times (we aren't modernized yet)

I'm not debating that, I'm simply saying that if you're not someone that spends your entire time in an area, you're not likely to know where the item is or the best way to find it. For instance, I know that this is a pair of AND black pants. But I can't always tell which of the seven or eight...

Well yes, but sometimes it just isn't possible to do it yourself in a timely manner, especially if you're not intimately familiar with the layout of softlines.

TTOETL: Please don't tell me to improve my communication when you decided to try and get ahold of me every single way except over walkie...which probably would've been the most reasonable option.

TtoETL: Please don't start telling me what tasks I need to start with tomorrow when I come in. I'm off the clock, and it's kind of assumed that I'll work the full cart of abandon that I simply didn't have time for tonight.

To those parents: please stop putting your children in the merchandise!!! No, I don't particularly care if they're having fun playing in the suitcases, there are better ways to see if it's big enough without zipping a child inside... Also, if you are going to do that, please don't just leave...

Archived Do You Get Told About Guest Surveys?

The GE at my store is pretty consistent about giving shout-outs when someone gets recognized on a survey. Maybe just ask your ETL-GE since I'm pretty sure they're the ones responsible for reading the surveys.
