Anyone here successfully ask for a pay raise?

No but I got fast tracked for a promotion.

    I wasn’t scheduled a full week

Usually there’s not a lot of available payroll until they write a schedule with you on it at the time of writing, which would probably be next week or the week after.

    Raise coming

Yep. I get five weeks of childcare over the summer for $40 a week, saving me $1500 every summer. That’s a 72c a hour raise as far as I’m concerned.

    Open availability?

Yes BUT I won’t generally hire someone with limitations that also wants 40 hours.

Leave of Absence for 3-4 weeks ?

No less than 3 weeks out but the earlier the better. Obviously medical you don’t need to know about before you get sick.

Leave of Absence for 3-4 weeks ?

You tell the ETL and it usually takes 2 more weeks to end up on the schedule.

Hours allocated for TMs out with COVID.

Payroll typically costs the company around three times what the employee receives, between benefits and administration. It’s the biggest controllable expense in a building.

Hours allocated for TMs out with COVID.

We overwrote payroll at the end of the month to compensate for the absences. So the thousand or so hours we saved with loas we spent on the schedule the next two weeks.

    Scheduling is time consuming

Auto schedule. Write set schedules for the full team. Make each shift 8.5 hours long. You auto schedule will put in way too many hours this way. Then just shorten them up to meet your forecast hours each week. That way you never have too few people in the building, and you can always get...

    Payday

Friday. The banks are closed Sat and Sun and by law can’t be closed three days in a row.

    I’m not on the schedule

It’s possible they’re planning on letting you go, but it’s also possible a mistake was made. Talk to your TL.

    No pay for training?

Separation notice is a form letter. Your paycheck will come to the store on the Friday you should have been paid had you remained with the company, and dropped in a mailbox by the following Monday. Then you need to wait for it to come in the mail. Because you job abandoned, your last day was...

    No pay for training?

Did you use the time clock? Leave a written list of your hours worked? Often new hires are hand input into the payroll system, and it’s possible the message didn’t make it to the right person. They may have assumed you never were officially hired. Have you called HR at the store and asked?

    Crazy scheduling on Black Friday?

SFS starts at midnight but orders drop in until 1230pm (I think, not my job.). If everyone came in at midnight, you wouldn’t have anyone to finish or get ahead for Saturday. Plus if you have OPU, you have to completely clear backlog by 9 am and then stay current until close of business. In the...

Can TL override your clock-out time???

Some TLs make everyone stay until the work is done but IMHO that is a poor management choice. If you can’t get the work done that’s either training or bad schedules, it’s not the TMs fault.

    ETL Weekends

Usually they split Sat/Sun at my store and take weekdays to work 5. Our store is a hot mess weekend afternoons during 4th quarter but weekdays are pretty chill.

    Question on average hours

According to my math 32 isn’t quite enough to get to 30. You also want to consider they may not be able to schedule exactly 32 every week and some weeks you might be at 29 which would hurt. My rough math (with assumptions in it) says you need 35 hours a week to hit 30. I’d open it up to 40...

    ETL Weekends

    It’s district and store dependent.

Changed my direct deposit and didn't receive my pay.

You have to change the direct deposit info before payroll runs. They will probably send a paper check but it might be late. It may also go into the account you had it on last week.
