I thought days worked during holiday premium time didn't count towards your weekly hours. For example you work 5 - 8 hour days to equal 40 hours. One of those days was a day you worked on a holiday premium day, so technically you could work a 6th 8 hour day that isn't overtime to equal 48...

Like others have said your best bet is to request the time you need off and then speak to your ETL the day of or day before they write they schedule and tell them you are available to work. Most of the time they see time off and don't bother to see if you have any availability that day.

I didn't think it would allow the TM to be overpaid. I've accidentally submitted and had PTO approved on a week I worked 40 hours. It got automatically canceled and put back into the time off bank.

It's hard to say if it got shelved due to positive cases or because of staffing. You have to think it would be considered a safer environment to shop in later in the evening with less foot traffic.

How does this work? Right now if you work a 40 hour work week and work on a holiday you can technically work 48 hours and it not count as overtime. Is this still the case? Or does it just mean if you are under say 25 hours you don't qualify for the time and a half pay?

If this was happening at my store I'd ask my ETL to give them a good week to take time off and if they said I couldn't any time soon then I would probably call off or ask to talk to my district HR about my work life balance.

When you get back from vacation, plan another one and take more time off. You want to avoid this happening again.

I would assume either you are maxed out or not at the required hours to earn. Please let us know what pay and benefits says when you call.
