    Sick Time

Are you asking about using sick time for sudden call offs when you are not sick? You can't say," I'm not sick but I don't want to come to work today and I want to be paid out of my sick time because I have X hours of sick available."

    How is sick time earned?

at 1 hour per 30 hrs and 12 hrs times 52 weeks=624 hours a year. 624/30 That means I earn about 20 hours a year. I also have been with Target more than 10 years. I typically use 4-8 hrs of sick per year. Every year that means I am earning 12-16 hrs that I am not using. It stops accruing at...

    How is sick time earned?

I believe some states mandate sick before that. I live in a state that mandates that any employer with more than 15 workers, employees earn 1 hour for every 30 hours worked as long as the employee works at least 24 hours per pay period. They are required to be able to accrue up to 40 hours...

    How is sick time earned?

I think it depends on your state. Some states mandate sick pay. In other states it goes by Targets base policy which other than saying it is available for "eligible employees" doesn't go into any other details. You would want to check with HR at your store to see what is the eligibility criteria.

No time and a half for Christmas Eve this year?

In addition to the differential which may have even been $1.50 but not time and a half; during Covid it was Saturdays and Sundays pre Christmas in December. It did not include the day after christmas which has always been one of my least favorite days.

Can't you just tell them that you currently have no availability and if that changes, you will pick up shifts through the app.

    Paid LOA

But she isn't caring for a sick family member. Her mother, who is the employee's babysitter, will be going away to care for her sick family member who happens to be the employee's grandmother. The employee will be in a different country than the sick family member staying home to watch her...

    Paid LOA

I don't think it would be covered. Your primary reason for not working is lack of childcare, not that you are sick or caring for a sick family member. I guess it depends on the laws in your state. Whether you could get paid by "finessing" the reason for the LOA is another question.

There are still a ton in my store, including me. Even though people are coded as ODTM, management still tries to encourage those that are looking for 20+ hours a week to get a set schedule. If you do, you can then at any time ask to be released from that schedule and go back to picking up what...

    MLK Day

Isn't Christmas a religious holiday? The fact that it is on a religious holiday isn't the reason it isn't paid.

    $1.00 extra from 10/22/2023 to 01/06/2024

So are all the stores that are getting the extra $1 ones that start at $15 (base) or are there any that start higher and are getting an extra $1 or $2?

    Paid LOA for sick spouse

I think it depends on the laws in the state where you work. Some states require employers to allow employees to use any available paid leave including personal sick leave if the employee has it to use to care for a sick family member. State Family and Medical Leave Laws -...

    Inflation pay raise

Any one else from Maryland see a bump in their tm or odtm pay recently. Last paycheck my hourly rate was up and I don't see anything mentioning why.

    first paycheck & TM discount?

TM discount should go through as soon as you are listed as an active employee. If you can punch in the discount should work. Show the little card you were given with your employee number and the cashier can punch it in.

I've asked and been approved to become On Demand. Are there specific forms that I need to fill out or is it just a matter of my ETL letting HR know?
