$15 minimum wage and $200 bonus recognition for work during pandemic

How can they pay the bonus for working "through the pandemic" when the pandemic is still going on? Who at Target is seeing the future and predicting an end to it once July is over?

    What is CSH?

<C>hasing <S>treet <H>os. Depending on your view it could be good or bad. Your call. Either way, Target is paying you to do it.

What do you think will happen when we go to $15 an hour?

Although you sentiment is admired, Target could care less. For everyone that walks away, five people are in the wings waiting to come in. Target knows this.

    W2 showing but....

Federal law requires all employers to send employees W-2 statements no matter how low earnings or wages are. These W-2 statements can be sent in either paper or digital form and must be received by employees no later than January 31 of the following year. If Target does not provide you with...

    Review and raises

The first time I wrote them all and they were delivered one-on-one at my little used desk. The next year I had my TLs write some of them, but had to tell them what each person was going to get so they could write the review to meet the already-decided rating.

    Review and raises

The review system sucks. It has already been decided how many of each level your leadership can give, so they have to tailor the reviews to meet those marks. When I found that out I was floored. I rated all my folks honestly, only to have them all handed back and told what each one SHOULD...

    Archived 9 hours between shifts?

Try working until 3am, then be expected to be at the staff meeting at 9am the next morning. They don't care that the drive home may take half and hour, and the drive back in is during morning rush and could take an hour. Just show up on time and to hell with your sleep cycles. We had to do...

    Archived FMLA

FMLA is not paid/unpaid per se. It depends on your employer. My employer grants paid FMLA so long as you have enough Annual and/or Sick leave to cover what you are requesting. If not, you can request leave without pay.

What he said! The compliance part of the law is still there, but there no longer is any way to punish you for not meeting that compliance. They took the teeth out of it.

Because the ACA still requires you to have health coverage - but there is no enforcement method anymore.

Archived What happens to 401k and Health Insurance after...

Huh? The ACA does not end this year. What has ended is the individual mandate and the penalties which cannot be enforced. So the ACA is staying in place, but cannot be enforced. The Individual Mandate and Penalty rollback is already in place for the 2018 tax year.

Nobody is penalized anymore. The individual mandate and penalties were abolished for the 2018 tax year. So although you MUST have health care, there is not enforcement method.

Truthfully it is not really that much more expensive than what was being paid before - you just have to pay ALL of it instead of your employer picking up their part. COBRA has you paying the full amount plus an additional 5%.

    Archived Next Pay Increase?

Which is a sucky system. I did honest assessments when I was an ETL, then discovered that ratings for each employee had already been decided above me, and I was supposed to make my assessment match that rating. That was probably the beginning of my downfall, as I loudly stated in our staff...

    Archived COBRA Question

Cobra coverage rates are 102% of the premium you pay currently - but remember that a large percentage of your premium is employer subsidized. You do not usually know what large percentage the company pays, so expect your jaw to hit the floor when you see what the rate is.

Archived Hr refusing to change availability??

STLs often will deny any change that closes any weekend availability. They also will often not hire anybody who says they cannot work weekends. Unfortunately no rules are being broken.

Federal jobs. I've been sent home twice due to extreme winter weather (once even involved thunder snow - how freaky is that) and we got paid the same regardless.

Archived If leave company, how does it affect your health insurance?

Fair enough to say. I'm talking about major employers or large companies. In that case, what I was saying is almost always true. I also agree that for the original poster, the heathcare exchanges are probably a good bet.

Archived If leave company, how does it affect your health insurance?

Saying "they charge the max" in relation to COBRA is a little misleading. They charge you just a little more than what you AND the company were paying. When we get healthcare through our employers, for the most part we see very little of the actual cost. The employers usually bear the HUGE...
