They eliminated specialist positions a number of years ago (AE10 maybe?). Because of that, it likely is a lateral move. It's not fair, but when is Target fair?
They'll only raise wages if enough people quit or transfer to a store within the city and specifically cite wages as the reason why they're leaving. Target tries to have competitive wages, but they usually need a really good reason to do anything.
I have Verizon, so maybe AT&T is different, but afaik the plan has to be in your name to do it, and you can just take paystubs into your local store instead of calling.
Make sure you ask them to change the paygrade because otherwise they might forget. If at least half of your hours are in the new work center, they should change it.
I think there should be set times for when shift differential comes into effect (for example, 10pm-7am), and you only get paid differential for any time worked during those hours. Sort of how you only get paid holiday pay for anything you work during the 24 hours of the holiday.
Shift differential shows up on a paycheck as "SHF" where things like overtime and holiday pay are listed, right? If so, apparently my store does do shift differential.
My store doesn't have differential at all. I'm pretty pissed, since I'm doing a pricing overnight into Christmas eve. That's okay, I'll just alter my entire sleep schedule and receive nothing extra for it.
If my store's anything like yours, it'll probably be fine, as long as there's coverage. Although, one time I took a week off when there really wasn't coverage (because they didn't want to train anyone else for instocks), and they still approved it.
