vacation hours

My boyfriend who still works for target wants to quit but can't get a straight answer to his question. If you quit to they pay out your vacation time? or should he use it before?

I’m leaving for another retail company soon, and I was wondering if we lose our accrued vacation when we leave? I have 19hrs of vacation and 5 hours of personal holiday. Is it wise to go ahead and put in for it now? Could I call in one day next week and have that count towards my vacation?

Do i will lose my vacation hours if i didn't use them before the end of the year ( New Jersey )?

I’m trying to get all my vacation time used before I put in my notice. A friend of mine quit and they won’t approve her for vacation on her last week and I don’t want them to screw me too. I know it’s done in work day now but I have no clue how to do it!

I am aware you can use them by requesting a day off and when it gets approved, you use them. But can they be used as a way to cover a day you call out for? Almost like sick time is used, or are they limited on how you can use them.
