How do you GSA's out there respond when a guest asks "are you a manager?" Because you basically are a front end manager, but not technically. What about GSTL's? When a guest asks to speak to a manager for front end related issues are they referred to you or an LOD?

I always feel awkward saying I am, but yeah, I get called over to deal with guests asking for a manager, so I’m supposed to say I am. Now if they specify store manager, then I get the LOD, but other than that I handle the calls for a manager front end wise.

If someone asks for a manager I usually say “I can call over my supervisor - s/he is in charge of the front of the store.” Then I let the GSA or GSTL call the LOD if it’s an issue they can’t resolve.

So as a GSA you can always reply that you are the front end supervisor.

I guess the few times I had to GSA before becoming GSTL I'd be like "I'm the person currently in charge up here" [you know you can't talk Target lingo to a guest] then if they were bat ass crazy I'd be like "let me get the manager in charge"
