Archived Help! Scheduling mixup?

So when I was in orientation my HR asked if I needed any days off and I gave her a few dates. I remember today that one of the days I gave her well she ended up scheduling me for it. If I call and tell her about the mix up would she just have me put it on the swap board or what? Im really not looking to get fired over this but I already made a commitment to an organization called Music Saves Lives.

She'll probably just have you put it on the swap shift board. make sure you put it on the swap shift board ASAP so there's plenty of time to get it covered. You deftinely won't get fired over it don't worry!

Sometimes they will just take you off the schedule completely since you asked for that day off and they'll try to find someone else to fill it. Then it's their responsibility, not yours. That's what my HRTM does anyway.
