You only have to sign up once, and yes, they send an email saying it's ready to retrieve.

I remember being able to access the electronic W-2s sometime in the middle of January.

If you have already done this though then you don't have to and it will send to you automatically. Note: you have to register by JAN 6th to be able to get your w-2 electronically.

That's the link I used earlier. I clicked into the form library by mistake and saw the $10 fee and thought I landed on the wrong site. I'm already registered here. Thanks!
