Archived What causes an item to go on clearance?

It won't be on planogram on the next set. So we have to get rid of it. Otherwise it just takes up space.

Then if it doesn't sell after awhile it'll go "Salvage", which basically means we throw it away or donate it.

That's what I thought.

Salvage items are the worst. At least when they end up in guest's carts...

Item brought in specifically for endcaps we never plan to carry.

Soley to puss off guests who want some cranberry sauce for their target breast in April....Lol.
I had this happen to me yesterday. :p

I've always wondered. I tell guests a computer decides but sometimes perfectly useful products will go on clearance. I got some Gain detergent on clearance while there were also bottles of Gain- same size and package and everything- not on clearance.

A packaging change may be as simple as putting new wording on the label.

Soley to puss off guests........hey, is it fun to "puss off" guests??

Stupid because we used to carry it year round, both the jellied and the whole berry. We don't have canned yams anymore either.
