Archived What happens to your 401k when you leave?

Today is my last day and I'm wondering what happens with my 401k?
Is there some sort of standard procedure?
No one has contacted me at all about leaving, so I don't really know what to do.

It will sit until you cash it out(high tax option) or roll it into your new jobs 401k. Hewitt @targetpayand benefits can get you all the info to roll it when you get info from new employer.

You can also cash it out and put it into your own, personal IRA.

It will stay in your account until you transfer it to a new 401k or a IRA.
