    Lack of cashiers

Join the club. I work at a grocery store that often has one main line cashier and one cashier watching SCO even during the busy time of the day/week. If they need an additional cashier they have to page for the SD, ASD, or PIC (LOD) to come up and help as there is no one else to call. I am...

    No More Flexing

I can see flexing when a department is getting ready to reset or certain seasonal areas, but not every day. I think it is more work than it is worth. Back in the day when I worked for Spot that is how we did it. Did however have an STL that decided he wanted little to no backstock for toys...

    Fdc truck delivery.

Luckily at my grocery store, most of our pallets are shrink-wrapped. The ones that are not are watermelon/pumpkin bins, milk crates, and some shippers. Everything else in the fresh departments, grocery, and GM, as well as supplies is shrink-wrapped. That means I might be okay, but I would...

    Is this normal???

You don't want an OSHA inspection, as they not only look at the issue(s) called about but also look at everything in your store with a fine-toothed comb. We think the a union rep for our grocery store called OSHA, so we had a visit a few years back.

    Is this normal???

There is a sign on the bailer at the grocery store where I now work that states it must be closed when not in use.

Target Stores Bomb Threats in my city.

He once had a bomb threat at our store. The police were called and our store evacuated and the police were called. I think the caller wanted gift cards or at least the card numbers or the bomb would be activated. I kinda figured something was up and then really knew there was a problem after my...

Have your stores changed the truck days in 2024

At the ultra-low volume store, I used to work at we got trucks on T/T/S and then the STL worked to get it moved to M/W/F. He did, as we could not get people to work on the weekends. In the end, we either got trucks on T/T or M/W/F depending on the piece count of the truck.

    Ridiculous OPUs

Not OPU, but rather SFS. KY Jell and Hellman's Mayo. I guess Hellman's is not available west of the Rockies (only Best Foods). I am in the middle of the Rockies, so both are available here.

    2022 Food Safety Manager Certification

I was sent out of town with our ETL-HR to sit through a morning-long lecture on food safety and in the afternoon we were given a test. You were notified a few months if you passed or not. If so good, if not you were sent back to do it over at your store's expense.
