And excuse me if I think that, no matter how long you have worked somewhere, someone IS writing you a paycheck and you have to EARN it.

Archived So, my first real day at Target (after orientation)...

Umm, did you actually read what I wrote? If you did, you would see that I was the one doing work. I specifically mentioned that I spent more time putting items away than the actual trainer. I was not intending to gossip or complain. I was sharing my thoughts HERE, HERE ONLY, in the EXACT same...

Archived So, my first real day at Target (after orientation)...

I was hoping to stay for at least a few months after the seasonal period (assuming they keep me). Now I'm thinking of putting out applications after December and seeing if I get any calls.

Archived So, my first real day at Target (after orientation)...

First of all, my thoughts here are about my particular store. I am not criticizing the entire Target company, and yes, I know that these things can happen in almost any retail environment. It's nothing I haven't experienced before. Just sharing my thoughts. For those who don't know, I was...

Archived New to Target and this forum

From what I've observed in the past - and I'm not trying to be judgemental or obnoxious - the types who don't mind being cashiers for years are grandmotherly older women. I think it's a little less difficult for them because, due to their age, they often get *slightly*...notice I said...

Archived Could these count as khaki?

During my work experience (at other places; I haven't started at Target yet), I've found that these sorts of things depend on 1) who you are, or who you know, and 2) random luck. Some people go through jobs without anyone ever telling them that they can't wear this or that. At one of my old...

Archived New to Target and this forum

I've been a cashier at almost all of my previous jobs, and I welcome the chance to work on the sales floor. I'm not expecting one to be better than the other, but would like the opportunity to have different work experience.

Archived Target to price match with Amazon and other online retailers

I worked at a place where two cashiers had to be in one section of the store at 5 AM, even though there was almost no business until 11. Management wanted both registers open so that no customer would possibly have to wait for one person in front of them.

He doesn't work there so it must be something that more than company is catching on to. *Sigh* Customers are being way too babied these days.

    Archived Scanning IDs

That's been almost normal at my jobs, considering some of my other experiences... - A man who asked if I realized that I was wearing a pink shirt, and gazed at me with awe throughout the entire transaction. His wife and daughter were also fascinated by this and stared, hardly blinking until...

    Archived Scanning IDs

I've had customers at past jobs who "don't use debit cards" because "the government is catching people" and won't sign their signature on the card-reading machine because the government will track them. When I worked at a hardware store, one guy didn't want to sign up for the store's savings...

Archived What do you think of the interview process?

I actually had that question in my phone interview, haha. But I couldn't really tell them about a particular time, since doing more than one thing at a time has been a daily occurrence at nearly every job I've had.

Archived Could these count as khaki?

I would consider them to be khaki, but I've worked for some extremely nit-picky managers who would be completely flustered by a slightly-darker shade like that. Maybe you should ask your team leader, just to be sure.

Archived What do you think of the interview process?

As a new hire, and a new member of this forum, I was wondering what the experienced employees think of Target's interview process. I had two very short interviews. The first was over the phone, the next was in-person. At each one, I was only asked three or four generic "What would you do..." or...
