    Archived Policy on discussing...

No, there is no policy on discussing pay regardless of what anyone in your store will lead you to believe. In fact, it is against federal labor laws for an employer to tell their employees not to discuss pay or other terms of employment.

Archived Boys' Denim wall 2/24 set problems?

Go to Online planogram click reports at the top and look for the sales floor tie report. You should then be able to pull up the aisle number that your boys denim wall is located. Take a look at this report and make sure nothing else is tied in there. Someone may have tied something incorrectly...

Archived Promotions: Aren't they supposed to talk about them when they come up?

They also do not need to even post the position is someone else is already signed off and on the bench. For instance, if the last time a TL position came open and 5 people applied for it and three of those people were signed off by the DTL, the next two positions would not even be posted for...

    Archived Job abandonment

This is simply wrong. If you do not show up or call within two hours you are a ncns. Stores request you call two hours ahead buy its not a requirement.

    Archived Adz

Does anyone else's store utilize the all day zone strategy? If so, can you explain you store's procedure and the benefits / opportunities? My ULV store calls the ADZ at every hour on the hour from 10am until 3pm. At that time all team members not assisting a guest will stop what they are...

    Archived Being questioned by STL

Team members should be coached on behaviors, not meeting certain metrics. Good leaders will observe their team's behaviors and coach. As long as someone is offering redcards and selling attachments then they are doing the right thing. I firmly believe that if we coach the behavior then the...

Archived What is the typical procedure when you get written up?

Coachings don't have to be sit down, but should be done in private most times. I have had meetings where multiple people on my team received "coachings" at the same time without them knowing they were being coached. It is absolutely ok to move right to final. The point of a coaching is to...

Not for coachings. Yes for a counseling or final.

Archived What is the typical procedure when you get written up?

Yes it is. Your leader has to have a conversation at the end of the critical period, if performance has not improved then you move to final. The critical period should be used as a time to improve since you cannot improve performance immediately. Any issues during extended still move you too a...

I'm Lost! The Call In/Sick/Late/NCNS/Attendance Thread

Was the day in question part of the time you requested? If I read your post correctly you said you requested certain days off then verbally told them you wanted to return on Wednesday, not Monday. This could be the difference in knowing whether a NCNS applies or not.

Archived What is the typical procedure when you get written up?

It shouldn't vary. There are very specific corrective action policy guidelines available on workbench for all leaders. I would recommend challenging upwards if a particular store is deciding that those rules don't apply to them

Archived What is the typical procedure when you get written up?

Not entirely correct for performance 1st step is coachings. These are not part of the official process, but are a way of leaders tracking issues before moving on to corrective action. Team member should not even know a coaching is being written or filed. Generally speaking you should give one...
