First off take the word no out of your vocabulary. Can you stay late? Yes can you come in early? Yes can you come in on your day off? Yes can you help cart attendant get carts? Yes. Do not call out unless you are really sick like Covid or the flu. Do not ask to leave early unless an emergency...
I am surprised you got hired at another Target. You have to complete 90 days before you can transfer. Both your current and former ETL would have to agree to the transfer. The most your former TL can do is put in a good word for you with your former ETL. What kind of attendance issues did you...
At my store the gratis would sit in the back room until a leader not Beauty would get tired of seeing it. It would then be placed in the break room for anyone that wanted it. This has not been done in a while at my store.
What department do you work in? In January most departments get hours cut. Some get cut drastically. Cashiers can drop as low as 20-25 hours a week. Fulfillment and drive up don’t lose much hours so, consider switching to one of those. December is usually good for some overtime. Make sure your...
My Target is not super lame. I love my job. Not all stores are the same and not all leaders are the same. My store is great but, there is another store about 10 minutes away that I would never work at even if you paid me triple.
When clocking out it asks if you if you had all your meal and rest breaks. Next it shows you your time card for the day and you verify if it is correct. Most peeps when clocking out after 8 hours are tired and just want to go home so, not paying attention when clocking out. It’s easy to to...
My advice call the store and talk to someone in HR. Does your store have a regular HR team member? Talk to them or the HR ETl. If HR is no help talk with your ETL. Don’t rely on the app for a training schedule.
Sounds like he is only wanting to work 9 or 10 am. Till 1pm. Maybe I’m reading it wrong I hope I am. No one at my store would approve that availability.
Do you notice how many peeps suddenly need to change availability after they hit 90 days. Suddenly grandma needs a caregiver, suddenly they are enrolling in school, suddenly they are going to church every Sunday. They go to church from 7 am. Till 10pm. So, can’t work any part of Sunday ever.
You were hired based off the availability on your application so, changing it now would be a no. The exception being if it benefited Target. If you put you couldn’t close, couldn’t work weekends and now you can then that would be ok.
Your first week I would not pick up any extra shifts. There is a reason they schedule light on your first 2 weeks. Leaders don’t want anyone getting overwhelmed in the beginning.
I personally don’t agree with documented conversations for every call out. I have been with Target 15 years and I call maybe once a year. If got a documented coaching for calling out I’d be angry considering my record. You could lose some great employees over this.
