Sounds like he is only wanting to work 9 or 10 am. Till 1pm. Maybe I’m reading it wrong I hope I am. No one at my store would approve that availability.
Do you notice how many peeps suddenly need to change availability after they hit 90 days. Suddenly grandma needs a caregiver, suddenly they are enrolling in school, suddenly they are going to church every Sunday. They go to church from 7 am. Till 10pm. So, can’t work any part of Sunday ever.
You were hired based off the availability on your application so, changing it now would be a no. The exception being if it benefited Target. If you put you couldn’t close, couldn’t work weekends and now you can then that would be ok.
Your first week I would not pick up any extra shifts. There is a reason they schedule light on your first 2 weeks. Leaders don’t want anyone getting overwhelmed in the beginning.
I personally don’t agree with documented conversations for every call out. I have been with Target 15 years and I call maybe once a year. If got a documented coaching for calling out I’d be angry considering my record. You could lose some great employees over this.
My store doesn’t do write ups for one call out. That is definitely not normal! I would ask your ETL and HR ETL. Does your store have a problem with call outs? Maybe that’s the reason for this.
Have you had an interview yet? You could try calling the store ask for HR. Tell HR you need to change your start time. Chances are slim you’ll get hired with that availability especially with quarter 4 busy holidays season. If you really want/ need the job I’d suggest having more availability...
I took off part of last week and this week for vacation. Yesterday I tried to put in paid time for last week and it wouldn’t let me. Has something changed? I will talk to HR tomorrow. Just wondering if you guys knew anything.
Who did they send to help? Was it a front end person? When front end is not busy they send them to help others. Flex gets sent when batches are low. I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Being a trainer is awesome. You must be doing something right if they made you trainer.
