SCO is getting a bit ridiculous

Growing up I always saw ads for the Hess truck during Christmas time, and toy sets for a register also existed. There is nothing new about any of that.

[The Great] Port Strike [of October 2024]

On hold until after the election, notably. Somebody paid a pretty penny to ensure another market shut down did not occur until the next President is elected. All other conspiracies aside, I think it is important for the country as a whole that we did not add to the chaos right before the...

[The Great] Port Strike [of October 2024]

Purchase Order. Standard industry term, used to (you guessed it) order items from other companies. Its the orders Target makes to, say Pampers, to aquire material for the DC which is then distributed in-network to Target stores.

Does Target operate their own email servers for their company communication or is it outsourced to third party?

Even if it is "internal" anything IT in any major company is outsourced to India.

Target slows store theft, but at a cost to shopping experience

I argued the entire time I was in AP at the RDC we needed to start gaining more visibility over non-electronic items. So much theft DC side of smaller items like medicine and body products 4 to a pack at $25 each that were not given the same treatment as a $15 pair of earbuds because those were...

Service & Engagement Denim trade in, yikes!

Willing to bet these get sorted and the ones not totally worthless (totally ripped/holes etc.) Are sold to third world countries for a premium. Not actually broken down and "recycled"

    In the news

As is always said, all Target had to do was continue to not be Walmart. Now everything they sell is hardly better quality, and at 33% higher cost. I used to see people genuinely wear Target clothes all the time. Now I cant think of a single time I have seen someone wearing a shirt bought from...

Target no longer accepting checks for red card payments in store

Bank accounts are not free at all banks/credit unions (so it will heavily depend on what is available locally) And debit cards are not free, the companies charge a percentage to process the transaction on every purchase to the merchant, which is then passed on to you the consumer via increased...

    Insta post. Check it out

The joke used to be that all Target had to do to stay proffitable was be an alternative to Walmart. Now Walmart isnt exactly perfect, at least they have a small army running every store at any given time. Meanwhile Targets all over look like what I always expect Walmart to.

    Insta post. Check it out

Thats a joke right? The situation is clearly unnacceptable and the only way Target will ever even remotely start to address it is if people actually "put them on blast" for it.

Service & Engagement New SCO Pilot

Which is how self checkout has been for as long as I can remember. Nobody was ever at one counting and an alarm didnt blare if you had 16 items in a "15 items or less" lane lol.

    Smart Balance formula change

Earth Balance vegan butter. They have a soy free version too. Its what professional bakers in the vegan and allergy free world use for baking. They have spreadable tubs and proper sticks of butter. Its a fantastic product.

What is the difference between AP and TSS?

TSS is considered a lower role and they are limited in scope. They lack a lot of the training and permissions granted to APS/STSS (the DC equivalent of APS). Their role is deterent only.

What is the difference between AP and TSS?

TSS is AP. The other role is APS.

Best "I Told You So" Moment

Context is AP at an RDC. Three of a specific box was supposed to have diverted from the automated sorter down the chute toward the store trailer it was being loaded on, only 2 appeared on camera to have done so. My peer that was investigating this said they thought a box that was similar...

What does QMOS and PFRESH mean/stand for?

I always assumed PFresh meant "Partial" Fresh since PFresh stores arent true SuperTargets with the full setup, only the essentials. Note that PFresh does also stand for a store type/model in this way, not just the specific area within the store.

    Fdc truck delivery.

That would be news to me and really not make any sense. Target has contracts with companies like Ryder and Ruan to handle it all. Target got rid of in-house dispatching they used to do at the DCs. Major accounts have on-site offices for the trucking companies. Yard drivers are also a third party...

    Fdc truck delivery.

The driver has mimimal contact with anyone within Target. They are contracters through third parties. Its not impossible communication came to the driver via dispatch, but that sounds incredibly suspicious if none of the leaders in your building were directly contacted about the shipment.

    How big is your backroom

Just because it was specced to be built one way, doesnt necessarily mean that is what realistically happened when they were built/installed etc. Speculating: they might be trying to create a system that tells you where to backstock items rather than leaving it to the TMs choice. With knowledge...

Who else is having issues with set hours being wrong?

You are talking about someone choosing to bowl their own personal vehicle and then immediately work it, I assume? Still a far cry from the time there was a dedicated team that pulled pallets off the line and bowled them nonstop during the unload for everyone to stock when the trailer was done. I...
