    Archived Should I Feel Good?

In your post you wrote that your degree cost you $80,000 and you could pay off your debt in about 3 years, which comes to around $26,500 a year. I also wasn't trying to sound snobbish, I know how hard it is to work through college and still have a loan to pay back.

    Archived Should I Feel Good?

You're planning on having an additional ~$27,000 of income/year to pay off your debt? Hopefully that will work out for you. Student loan debt has been a huge issue for a lot of my friends who graduated around the same time as me. I've noticed that there are many companies now that offer...

Sam's Club was closed today. There is one on my way home from Target and it was closed the entire day.

It depends on the amount of debt you have afterwards and if it can be utilized.

    Archived Should I Feel Good?

Congrats on graduating college with no debt! That is a HUGE accomplishment! Student loans are not a fun thing to have worry about post-grad and it's a great feeling having no school debt, which makes it easier to concentrate on more important things.

Archived small problem with leadership in our store...

Target seems way too caught up in their upper management titles. I've thought that from the very beginning. All of these people are managing others to some extent, thus they are managers who need to get their heads out of their butts and start managing their employees. After all, this is only...

Archived Target stores open until 9pm on christmas EVE!?

That was pretty stupid. You didn't even have to participate in a huddle to know of your store's closing time. You could have looked on the schedule, asked a coworker or, best idea of them all.... you could have looked on the sign posted on the door of your store.

    Archived I hate it when...

Sooo many people put stuff on top of the fridges as if that is the designated spot to return unwanted merchandise, it's so annoying. I had one guest put a pair of slippers on top of the candy, right in front of my lane. I said "Can you hand me those slippers because that's not where they go."...

    Archived Seasonal employee!

Again, the name tags don't mean anything. Sometimes the people in HR forget to order them or there's a late shipment. Receiving a name tag has nothing to do with being hired on after the seasonal period.

Archived Guest Survey: Does anybody know how they are counted?

No one working at my store ever talks about these surveys, but I've had a couple guests who have told me they wanted to fill out the survey on my behalf. How do I see my survey results?

Archived what's the largest transaction you've ever rung up?

Yesterday I had a guest spend $1,600 on random merchandise and no electronics or relatively expensive items. I don't think she was mentally stable based on how she was acting. Also, when I told her her total, she didn't even bat an eye and said "that's better than last time." Most of my...

    To that one guest

It's customers like those that make you just want to give them a reality check and make them realize (if that's even possible) how completely crazy they're getting over mundane details that do not actually affect the quality of their lives. Our store was out of the holiday gift cards for almost...

^ Owning your own company gives you a little more of a cushion than working retail.

Archived what's the largest transaction you've ever rung up?

My biggest order on the lanes was $1,500 in gift cards and one guest purchased $800 of kids' clothes just for two kids. Her order filled 7 of those big red bags. She told me it was their Christmas gift. $400 per child just for cheap kids' clothes is a lot of clothing!

Archived So I applied to be an ETL last week

Exactly. Online colleges do not have a good reputation with so many employers, I really don't think Target would be any different. They would definitely choose someone who graduated from a traditional college over an online college, however I could see them choosing an applicant with a degree...

    Archived question re coupon policy

That's really interesting, especially the one per customer clause. I had a guest the other day who almost tried to physically assault the guest behind her because the guest in question split her order into two transactions to use two of those coupons and both orders did not equal $50 so she...
