I mean that’s fair. Just tread lightly and take note of what is said. Ultimately the STLs always want that fat bonus check so they’ll coach the crap out of people on OT so they don’t go red.

    MEGATHREAD Flexible Fulfillment

For Team Members to surf on when the Leaders are in their office. My guess is they want to promote the packing TMs to stay in place, while someone at the end can control the conveyor to "pull" more boxes to them to build the pallets to ship out to USPS?

Oh I see. You mean you're showing up on the project OT report for 12 hours? Hopefully your STL doesn't make you cut out at 40!

Archived Back to School vs Xmas

Are you time traveling? Even if you work from Sunday at 00:00:00 to Monday at 23:59:59 you'd still only have 8 possible hours of overtime. Take all the OT you can get before Spot puts the stop to it (though unlikely when given by the STL's blessing).

RIP. That sounds insane. I’m curious what this looks like I’d love to see it. Any reddit links to pics or would you post/PM some?

Archived minimum hours you can work

New hires they won’t go so low for availability but they’re usually willing to work with people who have been around. I’ve been working 5 hours a week for the last two years at my store. Works out well and no concerns. It is hard to learn though. I have no idea how to use Zebras these days...

To that one Team Member - II

TTODTL - does it make you feel comfy that everything is fine when you get pictures of *insert store area/department here* looking all clean and spiffy? Why not get off your ass and do a store walk to see the fire tunnel half packed. Or receiving shit show. Or light duty blocked off. Asking for...

Archived No really we care about safety

We can debate this all day but I’m strictly speaking in terms of the ability to stay stack through turns and individual repacks collapsing. Very often I see the bottom repack in a vertical stack collapse. One turn and the whole stack is toast. When staggered they tie in better and don’t topple...

Archived No really we care about safety

People who don’t stagger repacks are asking for it to cave in. I stagger repacks before going in the steel. No need to wrap or rubber band that thing won’t go anywhere. Fire aisle being full takes one call to a fire Marshall. Stuff on the floor is new norm to prep for the unload

Who recently quit at your store?

PMT, Flow TL, signing member, and a handful of SFS. Dumpster fire is a compliment at this point. My poor ETL Log

    Archived 8/12 Market pogs

I threw away two pallets earlier this year it was great. I love when my store gives me the ok to get rid of junk pallets I’m always pressing them to get trim the fat

    Archived Repacks

    1) The items are broken from case stock and "re-packed" into boxes to send to stores 2) The boxes are reusable, so they can be reused quite a few times to pack items I'm not sure on your second part, but basically the repacks are how they easily move eaches, or non-case stock items...

    Archived SL's breakout

I was recently told that we* were going to rearrange some of the bulk steel at the end of the line so SL can do their breakout as repacks reach the end of the line. That's wishful thinking, but if repacks exceed the speed of the breakout TM(s) it'll either A) bottleneck the line or B) they'll be...

MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

I try to maintain our bulk steel as best as possible and this includes prompting leaders to make decisions about junk in the steel. 6 pallets of wacos? Put in light duty. PMT junk? garabage. 8 pallets of remodel fixtures (3 months ago)?.....working on that one. We are so tight for space it's a...

    Archived DC Maintenance Mechanic

I’ve seen tons of trailers that need work. I thought all hauling is contracted out so no maintenance on the trucks. Maybe that’s a ADCANTS situation?

    Target Memes

When I walk in and see today’s trailer full of 18 transition pallets to stack, wrap and put up in the steel. Oh yeah and no spaces so I need to make space first. Ita tempting to just turn around right that moment

You’ve just found out? These guys pull OT year round practically. DC runs lean so OT seems to happen a lot. Q4? Why go home, there’s more OT!

Logistics The Flow/Inbound thread: Until We Yeet Again edition 🤙

If you only have three dock doors doubles becomes a bit tougher but are still possible. We’re at 6-8 trucks a week right now. Last year at this time we got 4 maybe 5 a week. Christmas is going to be rough, I’m expecting 10-12 trucks a week with no room in bulk

Archived Backroom - Pulling case stock before single items

Also, if we continue push all we will keep opening cases with open stock in the backroom. Full case doesn't fit? More open stock backstock. New case on the next truck? Wash, rinse, repeat. Turn your aisles into all open stock locations. Take that, corporate!
