    MEGATHREAD 2018-2019 Store Modernization Megathread

Which means likely the TLs from stores that lost headcount will be moving to the stores that gained headcount.

    MEGATHREAD 2018-2019 Store Modernization Megathread

Which is so frustrating because our newest VMG only shows one store layout, which doesn’t match my store. So we’re supposed to reset an area with much less space than it calls for, and without half of the special fixtures (like the large white walls). My leads are getting frustrated because it...

Archived Was told I violated dress code, am quite sure I didn't

I know it’s tough because you feel called out, but try not to take it personally. After a visit during Q4, we had a real crackdown on dress code too. Mostly because people were really loose with what counted as “red” or would wear things with logos/words. What probably happened with the email...

    Archived Benefits 2019

I believe it’s 32 hours a week average, and you have to have been working for a certain amount of time beforehand.

MEGATHREAD Hang Me (The Softlines Thread)

Same at mine, but for some reason the extensions for the different departments don’t actually work, so they just have one person in softlines answer every call. The operator position made sense when there was a dedicated fitting room attendant to answer the phone, but now that they implemented...

Archived Found it!! Help finding a dollar spot item?

Didn’t see anything like it in our dollar spot. Sorry 😢

Archived Found it!! Help finding a dollar spot item?

I’ll check mine tomorrow too! We’re behind on most everything so there’s a chance 😂

    Corporate Dear Corporate...

Oh my god THIS. I’m at a southern store. It’s hot and humid 80% of the year, and then we get to collectively groan when the heater turns on. This past summer, I was going outside on all my breaks because it was less hot in the shade out there than inside. WTF.

    Corporate Dear Corporate...

Dear Corporate, Since you told us we’re not allowed to have a fitting room attendant, can we please have our fitting room rack back?

    MEGATHREAD 2018-2019 Store Modernization Megathread

I really wish I knew. We also aren’t given a rack at the fitting room anymore or an attendant, but we’re expected to keep the desk and the rooms clear at all times.

    MEGATHREAD 2018-2019 Store Modernization Megathread

We have this going on now. Guest service is expected to call us for every two items (per department). But they only divide it into hardlines, softlines, and grocery. So I’m getting a call everytime anyone returns an item of clothing...

Archived Chances of being kept after the holidays?

I think some people are keyed in as Back to School seasonal at my store. But chances are if you were hired as a seasonal then and are still around heading into the holidays, they’re keeping you on.

MEGATHREAD Hang Me (The Softlines Thread)

We have all shoes in one section except men’s. Which sucks because there’s barely room for the shoes as it is, and with giant winter boots coming in, it will only get worse.

Archived Updating function in the backroom

Have they told you what they mean by updating? I’ve done backroom reprofiling before, but not sure if that’s what you’re looking for.

MEGATHREAD Hang Me (The Softlines Thread)

Same here. Ours is just sitting in the fixture room, which makes no sense since they won’t even let us have someone at the fitting room desk anymore. So now we are expected to keep the fitting room desk clear without someone working the unwanteds. ...how?

    Archived Free flu shot

I had swine flu back in the day, and I get the shot every year now just so I don’t have to experience something like that again. This is my second year getting it through Target. If I’ve ever thought about not getting it, I remind myself that every single thing I touch when I zone has been...

    Archived Handling work load

One thing that kind of helps in softlines is to zone as you go, if possible. If you’re putting an item on the arm of a fixture, go ahead and make sure that arm is sized, etc. It makes pushing things take a little longer, but it helps cut down on how much zoning you have to do later.

Archived Moving up over my TLs?

This was something I’d read as well online, but the recruiter didn’t mention an issue with that. Unfortunately, my school isn’t in my current district, so he couldn’t help me too much other than passing my resume along.

Archived Moving up over my TLs?

Thanks for the advice guys! I think this long ass job search has just shaken my confidence a little bit, so I’m thinking through different scenarios more than I should. But y’all are right! Appreciate it!

Archived Moving up over my TLs?

I guess my concern is that it would get back to my leaders when I apply, and I’ve been told you can’t really get promoted without their approval of you. Granted, I don’t know that much about how internal vs external hires work at Target, but I guess I’m just worried about not getting the ETL gig...
