Archived Ever Have One of Those Days...

God I would kill to change workcenters. At my store, cashiers can only change workcenters if they have a career conversion score of 2.5% or above. Even then, sometimes HR would refuse to transfer them for fear of other cashiers leaving. Just keep in mind it could be worse.

He was good. Good attendance, friendly with guests, helpful with carts and reshop. Just couldn't get enough red cards I guess.

    Archived First casualty today

Today a cashier of 7 years got fired for having too low of a red card conversion score. First one at our store, but 'm sure there will be more to follow. Morale is akin to a concentration camp, and the TLs won't let cashiers transfer departments. Is this really what it's come to?

Archived What do you eat at work?

1st break: 12 oz Red Bull. Lunch: Venti Americano from Starbucks, no cream or sugar. Last break: 3 cigarettes. It sounds unhealthy (and I'm sure it is), but I've lost 25 pounds since Christmas.

    Archived Merry Christmas Everyone!

By the way, tomorrow (Dec. 26) I am opening the service desk. Any advice? I hear it's gonna be hell.

Archived So what time and workcenter are you scheduled for Black Friday?

4am-2:30pm service desk. Could have been worse I suppose.

Archived Did I do the right thing?

Okay, so today my GSA referred to an African American cashier as "that little colored boy" to me while we were on the front ends well within earshot of guests. I told my ETL-HR because I figured she'd rather hear it from me rather than an offended guest. Anyone else have problems with coworkers...
