Archived TL/ETL Interview: Hired, But Still Waiting for Full Offer

Well much of what has been said in this thread is just wrong... completely wrong. 1) You don't need 18 months in role at a TL to promote to anything, you don't need a week. Generally speaking Target doesn't like to promote people before that, but there's no rule against it. 2) You...

    Archived Requirements to be STL?

First, welcome my Army brethren. Second, your odds of being hired on as a STL are exponentially small. You made it to what? 1LT? The civilian world isn't completely aware of how the military works, but they aren't completely ignorant either. The folks you were leading in the military, generally...

    Archived Team Lead hourly wage

That's not bad at all, especially as a new TL. The last three TLs my store has hired/promoted have all started well beneath that, heck one of our Sr's only makes about 1.50 more than that.

Sweet backpeddle. I got promoted to ETL, in less than a year, I've got nothing to be mad about. However, I am done with this conversation, tired of blowing holes in every single thing you say, have a good evening. FYI - Cabin in the woods = pretty damn funny movie.

Archived how much is an etl bonus typically?

You actually have to do that every month, not just yearly. I.E. - Back 1,000,000 hours payroll, beat yearly sales goal by (que Dr. Evil voice) ONE MILLION DOLLARS, and get store score above 100... then be .00000001% below on each in december = Not a Golden Contributor. It ain't easy gettin'...

Gotta be up at the a-crack of dawn, actually before that, so there will be no 40's. Enjoying my rum and coke though. Also, you'll never catch me trollin' dirty.

Archived does target only want etls with NO management experience?

Dedicated maybe a half hour to this thread... Yeah, I've got that kind of time to spare. Based upon your last line, particularly the "boss around" part, I no longer think you're serious about what your saying/asking. However, in the interest of trying to be a good sport, yes you can get above...

Archived does target only want etls with NO management experience?

No worries, I stopped taking him seriously when he said they sell ps3s at a loss and games cost whatever silly amount he stated. 1) Sony has been selling their ps3 for a profit since before he supposedly started working for them (2010 FYI, simple google search will verify). 2) Also, his...

No, the parent company is 100% relevant. It's basic economics and accounting. Explaining that, to you, if you don't get it already, would take more time than I care to spend on the topic. I've heard quiet rumblings that PS4 may never happen b/c of the failings of Sony as a whole. 50% in a year...

Sony stock price has dropped by nearly 50% in the time you've supposedly been employed by them. So no, your company is tanking, not making money "hand over fist". A quick google search (took me literally 60 seconds to get dual sources) tells me sony rep's make an average of 31K (aka 60% of what...

    1) That's not what you said at all. The OP asked about being eliminated from consideration for ETL due to being 27, having a masters, and having previous experience as a supervisor. You then drew a comparison (blindly) to a bunch of nameless ETLs nearly a decade ago, and then drew that line to a...

    Archived I finally got it!

Congrats... biggest thing I've learned in my transition... being an ETL is cake compared to being a TL. The hours suck, but I honestly don't do much more, I'm just "required" to be there longer. That's my biggest gripe, I can accomplish everything I need to and then some, be ready to head out...
