You need to talk to the person who gets your time off requests (your ETL & TL) & see what they say. It will depend on business needs. Two weeks isn't unheard of, but talk to your leader before you quit.
My ETL-HR was changing TMs work times to keep them from getting a compliance violation. Said she'd been doing it for years. She was given a warning & I was told to not bring it up again. Shockingly, we went from a 0% to 6 violations in one week.
At my store anyone observed not talking about the red card to a guest at check out (regardless of prompts) are coached on the spot. I just had to accept a note from a cashier's doctor for a medical condition because she was being coached for her speed score-- which was 94% YTD. She is also 76...
Gift card, though? Any gift card, regardless of the amount is supposed to be entered into MAX so it can be taxed.
I had never heard of this until I was helping our STL with the most recent store compliance assessment.
Maybe I can give you a little help until Annie can answer: at my store HRTM is an N07 & the pay is $.50 over the base pay (slightly over minimum wage). It sounds like you might have gotten a little extra for your experience. I also have a teaching degree & 5 years of retail management...
An HRTM is not even allowed to officially coach anyone. We see a lot, hear everything & know about more than we should, but we aren't supposed to say anything "beach"ier than you would expect to hear from another TM (being brand, safe, etc.).
Since our pFresh grand opening we've had the same "maps should be available at the front of the store" comment multiple times EACH week. We literally got 15,000 maps and they are EVERYWHERE! A blinking neon sign *might* help ;)
Texting with purse & lunch bag--guest yelled at me after 3 times I *very* politely said I was on my lunch & couldn't walk 2 sections over to help him with a vacuum.
I'd read the multi-page script to roll this program out and gagged ("it's gonna be AMAZING" "call it the X factor"). I couldn't wait.
How it actually was rolled out: 30 minute huddle with 25 minutes of you all suck- compliance sucks, punch corrections, red card conversion blows, spill stations...
