    Archived Working DC + Store?

way back in my Target days, we had some seasonal temps come in that worked at our local store, then worked A2 at the DC. Didn't really work out to well, something about Target not wanting to give them time off to go work at Target.

Archived Is Target going to hire robots?

Hmm, a decent vision system to identify and convert bar codes is easy to set up. getting a reliable 6 axis robot to handle the various carton sizes, is do able. Target already uses robots to build pallets at some of there FDC's. they could put in a system like this to supplement the personnel...

    Archived Vacation time

personal time doesn't get paid out so burn that up. your 401k will be able to be transferred to the new job pretty easy even though spot drags there heels on giving you the money, but FYI if youve been there less than 3 years they keep the money in your pension.

    Archived Truck unloaders venting thread

well if tour receiving pallets from one of the newest FDC's either Denton of the other one(I can't remember where off the top of my head, but it's in Ohio) the pallets of food are stacked up by Kuka robots. They are stacked that high just so Target can get the most product in a trailer, after...

    Integrity Hotline

you know how things are at Target, every single word said to a GL is recorded in your record every single damn one. then when they want to get rid of you they just pull up things you did 6 months to a year ago and write you up for that, repeat until fired

Archived Target isn't giving me my pension

SOT, DC's still have the pension. and from what I've been told (yep, hearsay) District office tm's also have the pension. Then again, I guess that would kinda make sense from corporates perspective. Store TM's are viewed as more easily replaceable, and make up the majority of the employee...

Archived Target isn't giving me my pension

eh, don't feel too bad. I got screwed out of the pension to, didn't put in enough time to become vested. As a FYI to you store TM's, Target does still have the pension plan, but store TM's are the only ones that do not qualify for it.

Archived So this crazy thing happened today....

hmm, interesting.... Is this freight that is coming from your regular RDC? If so I would have to think the root cause of the mis-labled freight would have had to originate from the IW since Canada got it's own network of RDC's (three of them) but no IW's IIRC. otherwise why would a...

    Archived Niemann Marcus

Yep, we got in a bunch of those Neiman Marcus bicycles in yesterday that our UA's had to destroy. Kinda screwed up Target doesn't donate those to some charity for auction, but I understand the liability issue. Still kinda disturbing to see a perfectly good, but some what ugly, bike cut up for...

    Archived Fiscal cliff impact

I kinda feel sorry for you store TM's my first check of the year was jacked up to. It had personal time on it so I can't comment accurately on just how much extra in taxes were taken out. I'm payed a little extra and I work more overtime, so I can probably afford it a bit better than some but it...

    Archived kicking around an idea..

well with the way it's been explained to me this might be a little different as it wouldn't be a show up every now and again type vendor, rather a go in and work your 40 hours type vendor @ a different DC than I'm presently at.

    Archived kicking around an idea..

Does anyone know if it would be allowed under best practice to leave Target and go to work for a vendor at a different Target location? I mean I don't want to give up this retirement package, but I doubt the "leadership" at my current DC enough that it's becoming time to move or move on.

ah silly store team member with 1-2 hours of overtime, I've been slacking this year because I've got other stuff going on but I still got in my 200 hours for the year. I mean how else am I supposed to make more than one of these fresh from college GL's?

oh, come on DC's are not "big giant super ultra mega huge square-miles-of-space" mines pretty small. I mean the combined volume of the stock rooms of the stores we service probably exceed our square footage.
