Archived Is this a tactic target managers use ?

No! Sorry, I definitely didn’t word that correctly. They were informed before that shift. Those fake shifts were given in the event we couldn’t speak to them before the schedule was posted. Because when the schedule came out on Thursday, if they saw they weren’t on it, it caused problems. Then...

Archived Is this a tactic target managers use ?

As HR, I want to say that is a tactic they can use, but they’re usually not so obvious about it. For example, with seasonals we were going to let go, we gave them fake shifts on the schedule so they wouldn’t suspect. It’s possible your TLs just don’t care to be obvious. On the flip side, it...

Archived New loyalty program test called "Target Red"

There’s a $5 restocking fee? I’ve never heard of that. Is that a thing for other stores?

Archived Starbucks adding bonuses more time off due to tax break

Walmart used that tax break to give out $1000 bonuses. But only if you were theee for 20+ years. It was way less for everyone else. And they hoped that news would conceal the fact that they were firing tons of people. So bonuses aren’t always what they seem.

    Why are we hiring..

Asants. But this is true at my store, fortunately. We’re attempting to FIND TMs who want to cross train to fill our gaps instead of hiring. It’s the easier thing to do, too, since we already know about their performance/personality/attendance.

Archived TL making their own schedule

For me, I write the whole schedule, except logistics. I know what my ETLs and STL want, so i do it and it basically comes down to final cuts to meet payroll. My ETL GE has literally no idea of how to do anything in mytime except print the daily grid Why isn’t your HR doing the schedule? Per...

Archived Store closings - sad? mad? overeating???

That’s sad. It’s been a long time since I’ve been down that way. I used to live in Georgia but I’ve since moved to another state.

Archived Store closings - sad? mad? overeating???

Oh no! The very first target I ever went to is on that list!! Macon, GA. I instantly fell in love with target as a store. That is heartbreaking! Also heartbreaking that so many TMs are out of a job.

I’m so jealous. It’s like pulling teeth to get our Starbucks to fill a shift.

    Archived Hours for Cashiers

In this person’s defense, we had a TM do the same thing. The only difference is that he’s an awesome worker who is cross-trained in multiple areas and is so reliable, so we want to retain him. When I’m writing the schedule, I do stretch and get him in. Does it take 20+ hours away from other TMs...

    Archived District Team Leaders

This is by far my fave answer. Only for the last 2 sentences. But as previous posts have said, they are attached to stores. My HRBP has a home store she works out of, but it’s nearly 4 hours away in another state so I don’t know much else. I do have to disagree with you on this part. The...

    Archived Getting called in @_@

I read through the first page of the thread, but I don’t feel like reading through the second to see if my suggestion had been said but.... I would suggest you get the number for several TLs and the HR (ETL, TM, or both) so that when you encounter issues with attempting to return calls, you can...

    Archived what a concept

Speak to your HR because it’s corporate who sends the packet with the gift card. HR is responsible for giving the packet to you. So it’s not that your store didn’t do anything, they either didn’t receive or lost your packet.

    Archived Success with hotline?

We’ve had one former team member who called to say we fired him without cause. First, he was in his 90 days. He had attendance issues and had multiple coaching about his performance. So his was open and shut. Another instance is when a former team member called complaining that we withheld her...

Archived Hours cut! Everybody is really pissed off at my store!

This is where flex hours come into play. Most TMs don’t know about flex hours, or at least not much about them. In the first 2 weeks of the month, if you surpass sales goals, target has flex hours that add to your payroll. My store is trending at 600+ flex hours, so as long as our sales don’t...

    Archived Debit Red Card

It may be different for you, but I know for me, when I FIRST got my red card, it took up to a week for target transactions to come out. Now, it comes out in less than 48 hours. If you don’t use yours as frequently as I do, the turn around time may stay 3-7 days, but I think mine comes out so...

Archived DTL visting at least once a week.

Our DTL visits about once a week, but it’s just because he’s awesome and super involved. Our store frequently gets positive recognition from him. And it’s more than a 3 hour drive, so it’s not like his visits are convenience. The same is likely not true for your store, but it is possible to...

Archived How they’ll let the Seasonal TM go.

Our seasonal are still working up until the 31st. As far as swap shifts, leadership is prob too busy to pay attention to that. Our TMs know they just need to mention it to us and we’re fine with it. Checking that isn’t high on our priority list right now

Archived How they’ll let the Seasonal TM go.

We won’t be able to give the ones we’re deopping a 2 week notice. We barely have hours to give to the people we do like, so we can’t wait around and give the bad ones a full 2 weeks. So I’m posting with fake shifts so they don’t stop showing before Christmas, and we’ll have the convos after...
