    Archived Seasonal Termination

It's hard to believe that people working such low level jobs do have college degrees, but many do and work at Target while trying to find something in their field. There are several team members in my store, including myself working in non-management positions with college degrees. We are the...

    Archived Seasonal Termination

Actually working for a fortune 500 company, with a desk job and a salary, is much different than working a minimum wage retail job.

    Archived New Cashier Questions...

Lunches are given if a team member is working six hours or longer.

    Archived Team member discount policy

It would be very wise of Target if they started carding people that were shopping at other Targets, those the cashier does not directly know, because at my store, so many people seemingly borrow family members' or friends' discount cards, shop at different Target stores and abuse the system...

Archived What does an ETL have to do to get fired?

We had an HR-ETL who was recently fired, but not many people know why she was let go. Her picture was ripped off the wall and our STL went around telling people she was no longer working there. The rumor is that too many team members complained about her, but there might be more to it than that.

Archived The Official 9PM Black Friday Rage Thread

The petition has already gotten over 118,000 signatures. Now if people actually boycotted going to the store at 9pm something might actually change. http://www.change.org/petitions/target-take-the-high-road-and-save-thanksgiving#share

Archived Target ETL from Anti-Union video interviewed on TV

That interview is a year old (Cenk Uygur no longer works for MSNBC) and it's kind of obvious that the actor was there to promote his new movie. I remember seeing that video during orientation and laughing. When I worked at Macy's they showed us the same type of video. It's simple scare tactics.

    Archived Unionize

I agree that it's easy to assume Target is making more than they are, however according to a recent news article, our CEO is making around $24 million annually. If we were to say start paying each employee one dollar more per hour, which would make a difference in a lot of people's lives, I see...

I'm Lost! The Call In/Sick/Late/NCNS/Attendance Thread

It also has a lot to do with working in lowly retail. Many salaried office positions offer a full benefits package, vacation days, bonuses and an amount of paid sick days.

Archived Starting training as a new cashier, advice?

You had two days of cashier training? At my store the most I've seen people get is a half hour. On my first day, I was "trained" for 10 minutes, which consisted of watching someone cashier, then I was given my own register.

Archived One thing I never quite understand about Target....

At my store they hired a TON of college kids (significantly more new hires than we had for seasonal) thus cutting down the hours of those who have been at Target forever and will stay here forever. It doesn't seem too fair to them since the college kids will only be here for two or three months...

    Archived Last Day Has Arrived!

It doesn't seem like a big deal. The worst thing that can happen is they tell you you're violating dress code and send you home, and then your last day is over early.

    Archived No more Amazon Kindle?

This week's Target insert had two versions of the Kindle on sale with gift card promotions. The two stores near me still have a full display.
