Archived Anyone run out of softlines shelves?

we ran out of ALL pegs because we had a crapload of clearance gloves that we had to push out... mind you it was never cold in my part of Florida last year. We had tons left, even at 70%.

Archived Anyone run out of softlines shelves?

You could always use 2ft shelves and just stick them together. if you have label strips it's not very noticeable when clothing is on them. you can also ask someone to order them on TIPP but it takes quite a long time to receive them.

Archived Best Practice for Instant Substitutions in Softlines?

You can VIBE them with an appropriate substitution. (another shirt, bra, etc. at the same discount - will have to be done at the register.) .. sounded like you were saying if you're out of stock on a shirt you could sub a bra. misunderstood i suppose.

Archived Best Practice for Instant Substitutions in Softlines?

You can set them up but you aren't scored for it and it's very tedious so best practice says not to do it. Rarejem: you shouldn't be offering substitutions across departments though.

    Archived 'Count Report'?

It's called the Count Update Report. It's high dollar merchandise that has been adjusted in research. It's just like the Drastic Count Change Report, except it's less about the eaches and more about theft trends and dollar amounts. The AP team should be working it, but it's not "sensitive"...

Archived Last 4 digits for high purchases

It's not your place to deny someone's card because you think it's fake. If you have strong reservations about a transaction, ask someone else to finish it and tell AP.

I'm Lost! The Call In/Sick/Late/NCNS/Attendance Thread

You can be termed for pretty much anything before the 90 days. I would say that two call outs in a month would be worthy of termination. However, things do happen and I think one time could just be bad timing.

    Archived Favorite role at Target?

I like roles where you really see the impact on the store. I loved instocks for that reason, and my favorite part of being of a softlines team leader is setting adjacencies and merchandising. Knowing that what I do may make people want to buy something is pretty cool.

    Archived Mis-salvaged items

it's actually "missed salvage". A lot of the time it means the item went 30/50/70 percent off and didn't sell (or price change missed it somehow) so it went to "salvage", or the item was returned after the store salvaged it.

Archived Why aren't gsa or gstl allowed to go for back up?

This is ridiculous. I am a sales floor team leader, and you better bet I'll be up there if they call for fast service. The GSA/GSTL is not supposed to be cashiering because they need to speedweave, get change, help with guest issues etc. I'm sorry that some of you have unproductive GSA/GSTLs...

    Archived Shops At Target

I was at a store a month ago or so that already had the cos bar at 50% off. I picked up some nail polish for 2 dollars. Not too bad, :)

I'm Lost! The Call In/Sick/Late/NCNS/Attendance Thread

The "guilt trip" is actually included in the coaching form examples. "when you call out, other team members have to do your work" etc etc.

That is considered grand theft (felony). Anything over $300.

    Archived We're Going P-Fresh

I didn't work in softlines prior to our remodel, but it seemed to me like we lost the most space in sporting goods and mens. We also lost 4 registers.

Archived Hey, at least we get it right some of the time!

I think it's great to see Target supporting gay rights, but I don't know if I think it's the best decision considering the economic climate. It's the "right" thing given that gay rights are human rights, but Target's reasons are motivated by profit (determined by all kinds of analysts). It...

Archived the fitting room rules must be followed, but...

That is not the norm. We have several fitting room attendants, and we would not hire someone who didn't have nights / weekend availability.

Archived the fitting room rules must be followed, but...

My store has fitting room coverage from 8am to 11pm every day. They answer the phone back there and are asked to zone part of rtw and mens, sometimes. Our phones are only on night service before 8am.
