Can I get into trouble for not reporting a conflict of interest?

Is this a CartoonPenguin alt account? The details about the partying seems to be similar to those from his past threads.

I was fired for breaking the team member purchase policy. What are the factors that are going to be stopping me from getting rehired?

Genuinely curious, you say that you've spoken with leadership from your old store. Did you speak to them by phone or in-person? I also have to wonder if non-rehireable status is something that is "easy to overturn". I would think that it shouldn't be because it should be reserved for team...

Can I get in trouble for not reporting a conflict of interest?

I knew that the series would continue! Anyways, if you're really concerned about getting fired like others have mentioned I would stop getting involved in these kinds of situations with other leaders or parties or whatnot. Focus on work and being the best team member that you can be. I also...

Does anyone else's TL's not allow them to drink soda and coffee while on the clock?

I'm guessing this is an ASANTS issue that might depend on what district you are in. My old store's leadership was extremely strict about drinking (even water) on the floor/near the registers. However, I did see some team members, maybe in flex with drinks.

Asked to do carts but not a CA

Darn, even if I went back in time to the early 1900s, I couldn't find a job that didn't have that requirement :(. Oh well, I'll just have to keep plugging along and try to find a new position that is a fit.

Asked to do carts but not a CA

Sorry if this is a stupid question but when do you think things changed and companies added requirements like "other duties as assigned"? I'm 27 and I don't have too much experience with the job market outside of Target.

    Does Target ever fire anyone?

There was a GSTL at my old store whom almost all front-end tm's disliked because she hid in her office and usually only left her office to ask guests for surveys. Yet, she was never fired and I think she still works there. She's been at that store for 20+ years and she was previously working in...

    Does Target pay unemployment?

I actually received unemployment after I put in my two weeks, although I was actually terminated after I put in my notice. My ETL-HR actually gave me a form and encouraged me to file for unemployment, which I guess is odd since I thought that Target doesn't want to "pay" unemployment. I'm not...

    No drinks behind registers?

As much as I disagreed with this rule, it was heavily enforced and if you were caught with drinks on the floor, a team lead/ETL would reprimand you.

Asked to do carts but not a CA

At this point, I don't see any reason to continue this conversation. Like I said, I've already put in my two weeks notice and I've got a lot of other things to worry about. OP has probably already resolved this issue one way or the other and all I wanted to do was provide another perspective.

Asked to do carts but not a CA

I agree that you should listen to your boss in general. However, this SETL was such a problem and so disliked by everyone that when I put in my two weeks notice, my ETL-HR begged me to stay by informing me that said SETL wouldn't be here for a few months because she would be on LOA. Maybe she...

Asked to do carts but not a CA

So you get special privileges because you've been at Target for 10+ years? No wonder the turnover for cart attendants (and in general) is so high since no one wants to get stuck with cart duties by themselves. I've seen cart attendants get berated if there aren't enough carts left and also get...

Asked to do carts but not a CA

I disagree and I think that while being a team player can help you get more shifts, sometimes you get taken advantage of when they ask you repeatedly to get carts. It's not just getting carts, it's also being asked to clean the restrooms or any spills and I can understand why team members...

Service & Engagement Question about "Loading" Screen glitch at Self-Checkout

I spoke with a former team lead who initially transferred to another store but is back temporarily covering for our ETL-SE about this issue today and he said it's a global issue and he instructed me to continue to take out the receipt paper and put it back if the glitch happened. Just very...

Service & Engagement Question about "Loading" Screen glitch at Self-Checkout

Yeah, I asked the guest to try to do this and it hasn't stopped the "Loading" screen.

Service & Engagement Question about "Loading" Screen glitch at Self-Checkout

Thanks for all of your suggestions! I'll try all of them out to see what works best. I just don't get why Corporate can't do something to fix this since they rely on self-checkout so much. I just need to vent about how many times I've had to fix the receipt paper since this glitch started happening.

Service & Engagement Question about "Loading" Screen glitch at Self-Checkout

I was just curious if any other stores experience this glitch at self-checkouts where the screen says "Loading" for a long time after a transaction and it won't let the next guest start scanning their items. At my store, it usually happens after 4:00 PM when a guest pays with either cash or a...

How would cross-training into Style/Softlines work?

I haven't had a chance to talk with HR or ETL-SE yet but I'll take your advice into consideration. That's exactly how I feel in that I would like to try something new since I feel like I am in a repetitive funk every shift since I have to do the same things every day.

How would cross-training into Style/Softlines work?

Thanks, I will talk to both of them about transferring. It looks like I was right to be concerned about how my ETL would react if I went right to the Style team lead.

How would cross-training into Style/Softlines work?

I've been working self-checkout for all of my shifts for two years or so and I'm getting fed up with my ETL-SE's demands about getting guests to sign up for Target Circle and the constant confusion over cleaning the registers. I am hoping to cross-train in another department(preferably Style...
